Congratulations Tampa Bay and staff!! Even though most including myself was rooting for the habs and Carey Price, Caufield, Weber, seeing you guys finish off the season and defend the cup was something special to watch, and in some way you guys really deserved a "proper" Stanley Cup celebration on home ice, with the fans. This finals is in the record books

I know the Islanders series went seven with a close final game. But the hardest series was the first one against Florida. Vasi was huge in that series.

The stark contrasts to both of Tampa's Cup wins is so remarkable. They won last year in the Edmonton 'Bubble' and it seemed so quiet and eery without the fans or the whole spectacle surrounding the Cup presentation being there. Even the players and coaches kept bringing that up. They were happy and excited about winning the Cup regardless but they certainly missed having fans( whether it was at home or even being on the road with fans of the opposing team )there to witness it. The fact that they not only won a 2nd straight Cup but actually got to do so in front of a packed arena with roughly 19,000+, that whole spectacle was BACK again and it was wicked. Sure, they could've wrapped it up in Montreal but it kinda woulda felt a lot like it did in Edmonton, a half-empty arena where the fans probably would've been booing the Cup presentation instead. So it was a good thing that they ended up getting to a Game 5 back home so they could complete the repeat Cup championship AND do it in front of their fans this time around. I guess that's the only way this season and these playoffs could've concluded - with the Lightning winning back-to-back Cups and getting to do what they never got the chance to do last year, sharing it and celebrating it with their fans in the building this time around.

Well, congrats Tampa.

Lightning tried to fix the cap issue back in 2015 when Chicago won while way over the cap. The NHL turned a blind eye, and well well well, look how the tables have turned. Until the NHL goes and calls all cups for any team over the cap by more than a few roster spares illegitimate, and erases their names from the cup, this is a valid win.

To beat the Montreal Canadiens for the Stanley Cup, that's such a rare thing to do on the first try. Seattle Mets, Toronto & Detroit (as Victoria Cougars) & Tampa are the only ones to do it. The Flames did it on the 2nd try, & that tops them all since they hoisted the Cup at the MTL Forum. Sorta like when the NBA Lakers finally beat the Celtics at the old Boston Garden

Tampa is such a talented team that you want to see win every game they play.They work so hard as a stacked team and I am so happy to see them get an other win this year too as well as Jon cooper Steven stamkos and the rest of all the players who worked for it this year

Anybody seen the picture of Vasilevski and Price together in the handshake, if Vasilevkis pads are legal size than the rule needs to change because it's ridiculous how much extra padding this guy has.
