Jon McLaughlin - Indiana (Live with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra) 

I first heard this song when I was thirteen years old and it evoke something inside me, ever since, and the more I grew up in the years that followed, the more I realized the beauty and the meaning of this song. There is sadness, but there is also acceptance. Now I'm 27, and I cannot watch this without rethinking about the paths that I choose to be where I am today. I personally relate to this song, Jon's talking about the fame that he tried to convince himself that he's glad that didn't fell in love with him, and it was the same for me with my writing. I always wanted to be a published author and sent novel queries to publishers, to which I always receives rejection throughout the years, and wondered in my life if I should be doing more, or be kinder to myself and trust the process and just go on writing even if no one likes it. This song reminds me to be kind to myself, and allow myself to be sad over such rejections, but also slowly accepting that perhaps getting published is not for me, but also allow myself to keep on going. Thank you, Jon, for this music, this really hits home and I cannot thank you enough for your art.
