What happens when noted introvert Jon Moxley finds himself in a world-famous wrestling faction? Taken from Oral Sessions #001 Apple: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/6QCzBWV...
I liked him as Dean Ambrose and I like him as Jon Moxley. I think he's the kind of guy who would be happy working in a factory or something like that if he wasn't a wrestler. He doesn't seem to care much about fame and money or seeing his face in a billboard. He sounds like a regular guy, down to earth, minds his own business...a genuine nice guy.
Yeah he definitely has the Stone Cold vibes in terms of just a regular guy. I think Austin was more of a naturally social guy, but even he said himself he didn't have a whole lot of buddies back when he was wrestling. I think that's why a lot of people can relate to wrestlers like Jon and Steve, because they're playing very believable, every-day characters but their in-ring talent and promo skills are what shines through.
I think that comes off when he's on screen, even watching him as a kid when he made his debut and thats a huge reason in why we all liked him more than Seth and roman... despite us preferring to watch Seth in the ring.
@@danielirl9252 they are all excellent professional wrestlers, each one entertaining in his own way. They have different journeys and life stories and personalities. Roman has the cool aura and he'd probably be a pro athlete even if be wasn't wrestling , Seth is a born performer, he could have been an actor, a circus artist... something like that. Mox is a regular guy, he gives a very blue collar worker vibe.
I’m glad Jon told us why he’s not the most comfortable meeting fans and why he’s really shy and weird about it sometimes I would be the same way because I’m shy
I find it very interesting how Moxley describes his difficulty in socializing. My difficulty in socializing is due to a social anxiety disorder. This condition is not the same as being shy or antisocial. But in all three cases, discomfort and awkwardness during social interactions manifest themselves somewhat similarly.
My problem with socializing is trusting in people.... I'm a straight up down the Earth kind of guy and I hate being played so that's why I carefully choose who I associate with
This hit me straight in the heart. This comment so relatable to my conditions as well. It sucks really bad for me to have to deal with this, but I’m glad to know that I’m not bugging out and see that others out there feel this same way when socializing.
Renee said Jon use to call her a lot which would surprise her bc he didn’t really talk to anyone except Roman, and Seth she said that they would talk all the time then thats when they started dating
@@altyoutubeacc1463 Brandon Cutler runs an Among Us stream with some other AEW stars and like a week ago they were just shooting the shit over the mic and mentioned that Mox is kind of an eccentric guy, like one week he's quiet and keeps to himself, the next week he'll yap your ear off about whatever. You can even tell in this video that talking really isn't his favorite thing. I dunno if he's feeling like he's gonna come across the wrong way or whatever but you can definitely see that he'd rather be throwing hands or playing with his blow darts.
@@dpants5150 He's an introverted extrovert. I am like that and why i like him. You can see that same thing in the Steve Austin interview. Austin really liked him and got behind him but Jon just wasn't feeling it. It looked like he'd been forced to do it and it turned out off.
I met Jon a few years ago and i back them both up when they say he’s super nice. I was really awkward and asked for a hug and all he said was “sure but don’t break me” and it made my day. I wouldn’t blame him though if he was short with people on the street after shows. But at a meet and greet he was lovely!
Listened to the entire podcast. Jon is such a fascinating guy, every interview he does is a must hear to me. He is my favourite wrestler without a doubt. And Renee is so good at talking with people and not make it seem like an interview. It's just a great chat. And Congratulations on the future child!!!!! I found out on Dynamite lmao
I love the way she gazes at him as he’s talking. I remember when she used to look at him during interviews way before they were a thing and just felt the same admiration from her even then, even as a character bit. They are truly special
Just finished listening on Spotify- Knew you were both funny as hell, and it definitely did not disappoint. Looking forward to further episodes with others!
Renee and Jon are so much better off after leaving WWE. Yea WWE gave them a platform and helped them grow into known commodities but they both are talented people and they took the ball and ran with it. I expect Renee's podcast to get big and Jon is obviously a main eventer on AEW. Very happy for both of them and the fact that they're starting their own family. These are the good things about 2020. 100% rooting for them.
After the full gear omega match you gave me an exhausted fist pound. That’s all the interaction I ever need , that was an amazing match and it felt awesome just to be a part of it with you. It’s like bob dylan says..it’s about being there live and experiencing the art with the artist. No one should need anything past that. Congrats on the baby and continued success!.
Jon is awesome. Not everyone in the industry does it "for the art". I really respect the wrestlers that do that, that wanna tell a story in the ring, that put in 100%+ in it, even when they have to put their bodies on the line. Though truth be told, I rather they don't break themselves while doing it. It's heartbreaking seeing performers that I like being broken down when they get older.
@@luisreyes4939 yes, it would have to be up to them. When vickie Guerrero went to aew they not only banned her they refused her to interview anybody for her podcast. And that was the woman who's husband gave his heart, blood, sweat and tears to that company.
@@luisreyes4939 Considering the past couple of months with Vince forcing wrestlers to shut down their Twitch accounts, what makes you think WWE would let them go on whatever podcast they wanted?
This is why I've been a huge fan of Jon's for so long is because he's just a normal guy. It's like everyone knows a guy like him. Just a down to earth guy.
As someone who hung out in the wrestling fandom side of Tumblr during the heyday of the Shield, Mox describing them as the Backstreet Boys is too accurate 😂😂💀💯
2012 shield debut Greatest Faction of decades 2015 All the members of shield got Singles Push 2020 All the members of shield got character change Love ❤️ from Nepal 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 i know we have different flag
When he came back from his injury in WWE from Samoa Joe, I was ecstatic as hell because everyone knows that Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose is that wrestler who can wrestle. Him, Sabu & Mick Foley will be my biggest inspirations of being a hardcore wrestler.
He was my most favorite in the shield... Seth Rollins always seemed like a ass kisser... And Roman reigns he was more overrated cuz his family was in WWE
@@filfil9960 I was talking Early on in The Shield even Roman said he was the talker Early on Dean was even the only singles champion with the US Title Roman didn't even talk that much Early on Dean didn't like that they made him heel because it ruined his character and he went to AEW because he really enjoys wrestling and there is more Creative Control
@@filfil9960 he's far more dedicated than the other 2 so I don't know what your talking bout. And if your saying he couldn't cut it cuz he didn't wanna take orders from a board room full of people that didn't know what type of show they were putting on. Then yeah. He couldn't cut it lol 😂 that's y Seth and Roman still in the same spot
They are definitely my favorite couple in wrestling. They just compliment eachother energy so well. Renee makes Jon a better person and he helps add that spark to her life too. You know she loves him just by how she looks at him. I really like what he said at the of this video; where he said "people don't have to call me; they can just call you" LOL 😂 Something like that. Anyways i wish them both tons of success 🙌🏽💫
I Love that you are back to being Jon Moxley, I've been following you since your days in CZW & WWE changed you way too much. That was not you, that was a watered down version of you. As soon as I saw your comeback in NJPW , I said The Mox is back!
Also can I say how much I always appreciate that Jon says The Shield were like the Backstreet Boys. (I appreciate it always because I'm also a big Backstreet Boys fan, I know a wrestling fan who also loves the Backstreet Boys.😉 lol) He's said it a few times in interviews. 😉And love that the description in the clip was changed. Yes. 👏👏
Definitely glad I found your podcast, came up in my recommended videos. Though it’s bittersweet.. Hearing Jon talk about the Shield, and knowing we’ll never hear this again.. Sierra Hotel India Echo Lima Delta SHIELD My ultimate dream booking would have to be a Shield vs Bullet Club feud.. I still keep my 🤞🏼🤞🏼 for it. 😅
When Jon talks about being thrown in the deep end I felt it. I haven't done anything as big as that, but before I started working retail about 10 years ago, I had no social skills. My family was lucky I even talked to them. Thrown on cash you learn to talk to people fast, I mean real fast. I started out, couldn't even look at them in the eye, within a month, looking them in the eye, still mumbling; 2 months started to pick up how to talk to people. Within 5 months it was like I didn't have any form of communication problem. Now, am I completely cured? absolutely not. I still avoid people when I'm shopping, refuse to answer the phone/door, but its a process.
What Mox just mentioned about being shy and having social skills is me. But I'm more like an introvert just being myself and when I'm home go to my room and not bother anybody.
"At the end of the night when you've emptied your gas tank" Queen Renee picking at her lip with her fingernail just thinking "Oh he's always got something in the gas tank"
@@gcozzoli that's awesome 🙂 I wanted to meet him back when he was in WWE but I never got to now my goal is to get to see him one day with aew. It just sucks this whole pandemic thing started.. . Smh.. but I'm ready. :)
Oh damn I was just wonder what was Jon Moxley birthday to understand his way of thinking, his character, the way he handles things, etc etc, behold he's a Sagittarius from the 80's, I'm one also, I was not shocked, Renee be strong and know when a Sag loves you he loves you and hates to be bored and confined... you both are great and thanks for sharing these moments with us
It takes time to be able to know how to talk to people if you're not used to it, for me because I coach football or "soccer" as many here may call it, I have gotten used to talking to kids and initiating conversation with parents. Activities like that help massively.... Because if you can talk to parents of a kid, you can pretty much start up a convo with almost anyone. - Mox fan from Australia
