The lyrics are beyond genius. Savatage never got the recognition that they deserve. The talent of this band should have been one of the best band in their day...
@@stephenbuttle2972 The other song that you are talking about ("When The Crowds Are Gone") was earlier. It was on the "Gutter Ballet" album from 1989 and "Believe" is from the "Streets" album, which was released in 1991. It was a conscious reference.
Some artist have success but they will never be legend for anyone Savatage didn't have the deserve success but they will always be legend for People who listen to them ❤ RIP Criss Oliva Still a long life to the band
Because Jon is a genius and this song is powerful enough to cut through a person’s defenses and piece their Soul. This song evokes so much emotion, just like good music should. It gets me EVERY damn time.
Because many of us were raised in church, and this sounds like a church song....except it feels like he really believes. Faith in another person moves us all, because we can tell when someone is sincere, and he clearly is.
A song of a century! Everything pure emotion, pure melody - RIP Chris! I saw you in the Netherlands, as the world was young. That will stay in my heart for ever. Thank you for everything! Savatage will never die, neither will you!

Brilliant!!! Saw them (Savatage) many Times here in Germany!!! Most impressive Gig: 1991 on the Streets Tour, with Vicious Rumors at the famous Rockfabrik in Ludwigsburg, legendary!!!!! Greets from Stuttgart!!!
This is such an amazing song, I love so much that it calls back to When The Crowds Are Gone, some might say it's lazy songwriting but it's definitely not, it's a perfect callback in a perfect song
saw savatage in the early eighties at busch gardens..the were playin on the stage the seals performed on sorrounded by water..we were up against the glass..people started stickin there hats and shirts into the water and flinging water all over them..john got pissed and started swingin the mike stand at em..then a fight broke out in the crowd..some people got thrown out and then they finished the show..we ended up at some strip joint in tampa afterwards..great days to remember.!!
Absolutely love Savatage, this sounded a little rusty at the beginning, but just like the album version about 1:45, instant goosebumps. One of the best bands that could transition from melodic to metal instanously.
This song makes me cry every time Iheard it, remembered my grandma who passed few years after I bought the tape. I put it again and again and again. Sorry about Criss a great musician too. I still miss my grandma. Thanls Jon for this amazing song.
Epic, will always be grateful to Eric Pierce for turning me onto this band in High School. God Bless, Jon for composing some truly memorable music. May we always cherish their music. This song is for you, Pop. See you in a few.

Every time I listen this song it sends me to the first time I discover Savatage, and how good they are, and I put the song in a loop until life claims me again.
