Greg you are the freaking man, but your take on Foster is just garbage. As a freshman, dude shot 40% from 3 with a 2:1 A/TO ratio. And I know its crazy, but have you considered that, at least sometimes, players improve as Sophomores? Take this example: Player A Freshman Season - 8.4 PPG, 1.9 APG, 1.9 TO, 35.0 FG%, 32.3 3FG% Player B Freshman Season - 7.7 PPG, 2.1 APG, 1.1 TO, 43.7 FG%, 40.6 3FG% Player A is RJ Davis, Player B is Caleb Foster. Not saying I expect Foster's career to end-up like Davis's, but maybe (just maybe), its a bit premature to write him off after one legitimately productive season.
I think writing guys off when both are still very young and dealt with injuries is crazy. Proctor is a reclassified junior and foster is a sophomore. Both have great tools both have significant strides to take but giving up on them is not really fair. Also I don’t like Gillis starting long term personally but I guess that’s what practice has shown.
Thank you!! What is this dude talking about 😂 I think basketball by way of social media, has let ANY AND EVERYONE have an opinion and that has jacked things up pretty bad. I hear the most ridiculous stuff
My takes: 1) Proctor’s late freshman season surge corresponded with Lively’s ascent. With Maluach manning the paint, both Proctor and Foster will surprise most. Their play will blossom. 2) It’s Maluach and Ngongba at the five, Brown and Gillis at the four (not necessarily in that order, Flagg at the three and Proctor at the one. That fifth starter will change from game to game with Foster, Knueppel and James. All three will get good minutes and Evans and Harris are the wild cards. This team is SERIOUSLY loaded. 3) Duke will be the country’s top defensive team, and it won’t be close. And they just might be the country’s top offensive team too. Torvik has them top 3 on that side of the ball. 4) Haters will hate.
The lineup he predicted was the lineup that was playing in one of the recent footages that Duke put out that day and I’m pretty sure that was the day he was there. I don’t think that’s gonna be the starting lineup but I could be wrong but we’ve seen many different lineup combinations over the videos we’ve seen over the offseason. The most recent one that put out with them practicing in Cameron had Tyrese Kon Sion Coop and Maluach as the white squad. Ultimately I think Foster still gonna start with Proctor Flagg Maluach and the last spot is up for grasp
Yeah he literally just looked at the grey team at that practice and bcuz it had 3 of the 5 presumable starters he said that’s the starters lol CFOS is not coming off the bench
Sayin Foster can shoot "a little bit" when he was a 40% 3 pt shooter this guy dk ball. And his finishing at the rim was great. Ppl gonna wake up this season. But Deion gotta learn ball more im comin to join the discord to give him and Rauf hell all season
People love to try to find someway to hate on other people foster came off the bench last year and played better than a lot of people that start and half of them. Y’all try to hype up.🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I think you’re taking bringing old Duke back to the extreme. They weren’t saying them two bringing it back just the team as a whole. I take it as Proctor sees this team as the best team he’s been in since he’s been there. Hearing them talk how competitive practices are and where there bodies hurt afterwards speaks of how good they will be. Also your sleeping on Foster he played PG last year due to Proctor missing a month and he’s a 2 guard this season will slide over when Proctor takes a rest. Foster can just go make a play without running the team. Big difference
U guys play or at least watch basketball at all?? How the heck would you not start caleb? He is the best ball handler vs on ball pressure, best or top 2 facilitator and probably best on ball defender…. Does this stuff even matter anymore 😂 🤦🏾♂️. Go ahead and put proctor put there by himself as far as a guard…. See how that goes. What we playing zone? Because who is Kneupel guarding off the live bounce?
Greg… Foster was the 4th guard on Duke last season, and probably the 5th scoring option at best… that’s the reason for the double digit game disparity. When Proctor/Roach were out he shined.
Terrible takes on Foster. Foster is a point guard. Duke will have 2 combo guards starting in the backcourt. Kon doesn’t have enough ball handling or playmaking skills to start at the 2 unless duke had a true point guard which they don’t. When proctor, roach, and foster were on the court together last year, Foster ran the point while the other 2 got in their positions. Proctor was timid at times and made bad decisions with the ball and Caleb took the point guard spot. Seems as if Scheyer is giving Proctor another chance again but Caleb might take the full time point guard role once again which I think would be best & have proctor at the 2. Caleb pushes the ball better and makes quicker decisions than Proctor which will benefit this team that wants to play fast
Foster prolly the best iso player on the team also … as far as getting a bucket by yourself w/o a pick and roll or coming off an action to get the ball
Guy watched 1 practice and made a lineup on who did good that day lmao… every other time they’ve released clips from practice Caleb always looks like one of the best players
I wouldn’t say winning it all but if they don’t make the Final Four that would be a disappointment like last season. Flagg is really really really really really good. If you haven’t watched him play a game you’re missing a treat UNC terd
I think you’re seeing it correctly gwizzy. Butttt I think Scheyer is going to run a deep lineup… and CFOS is a 3 year- 4 year player. CFOS is gonna be the point on that second unit and gonna slide in when they want to add another guard and take out Gillis. Also, Rothstein was watching a run where you can tell Scheyer split up these teams. Brown had to run the 5 with Ngongba in a boot. You put proctor and foster on a team then the other squad doesn’t have a true point guard that can apply game simulated pressure. Too early to be calling a starting roster with how deep this team is
Bring back the old Duke is cringe, Jon was going off the lineups from the practice which are just practice lineups, lastly it’s gonna be funny when Foster starts game 1.
