I don't know why this even needs to be debated. They should have served time in a real prison when they turned 18. Denise herself said she never wanted them locked up forever but they should have served real time. Then once released, if they were ever to reoffend it should have been on the condition that that was that, no more chances. The fact that Robert has gone on to never reoffend speaks volumes about how Jon should never be free. Rightly or wrongly, they both got their chance and one of them took it, the other proved he was the ringleader of the murder that day and should never be anywhere near a child ever again. Neither should Robert, but for the purposes of this particular discussion. Why are we always protecting the criminal and not the children?
Also we don’t know that Venables was the ring leader. Robert may just be a psychopath so is able to live his life without any of the emotions of what happened.
I have read elsewhere that Robert was actually the main motivator behind it, rather than Jon Venables. But that seems very unlikely considering what Venables has done since. Child porn and being found with an abduction kit doesn't sound like an innocent mind led astray.

Not sure he should ever get out. He is a danger. Period. If he loses his anonymity and cut loose he will lose his life. He should stay locked up. He was given enough chances.

I don't feel a lawyer should be discussing his client, no matter how vile or long ago the crime was. This is the UK, not Los Angles. The crime they both commented was evil beyond words. It might not be popular, but of course, his identity should not be revealed. It's will cause the police extra issues in protecting him, like it or not, his safety has to be protected. He can be monitored and placed on GPS or tracking as required.
Jon Venables has been given his chances and cannot be given endless new identities. Other children who are killers have gone on to live normal productive lives. There is a difference.

If you dont protect his anonymity then he would probably get mobbed and murdered, although I couldnt care less if he did, the person or people that did it would get arrested and thrown in to prison for doing the exact thing that everybody wanted to do when they should be congratulated for it He should have been sent to an adult prison and never be released.

Remove both their identities as with other criminals , murderers etc. we are dominated by anti family judges but we had an angelic pro family Detective called Albert Kirkby who said they should have been locked up for longer
I don't know why foreign media hasn't named him. There are pictures of him as an adult online. I suspect as some point he will be exposed, and the court orders will be circumvented. Then he'll have to go and live abroad.

Lawrence could & should have done so much better with every case he’s handled. when this aired, he was under investigation by solicitor regulators for something corrupt & if the case involves adults who cause harm to children he refuses to show the evidence he’s got karma following his every move

You're taking bible verses to suit your own narrative. Those are the rules of law in the old testament. Those changed once Jesus came. In the OT people were punished on earth for their crimes. Once Jesus opened the gates of Heaven by dying on the cross, it became that we face our particular judgement at the time of death, and we face purgatory or hell. Jesus absolutely never taught an eye for an eye and that can quite easily be seen in the new testament if you insist on using the bible alone (very dangerous practice) for your moral references.
