Im glad i found this video. I saw my cousin Shane Gibson playing with Jonathan in Korn. He was playing the guitar and made me very proud of him. god will be with him RIP. He was a phenomenal guitarist. Fantastic gift of his fingers.

JD does has the energy to get down on each song n' the whole set on the chair n' the stage too. He's pretty damn good singing his music non missed lyrics.
I'm trying to find my 16 year old self in the crowd. I got there hours before the doors opened. I was a huge Korn fan. I've never properly watched this footage. I'm rediscovering my love for this music after years
You rock brother, you are a true motherf*ckin' KoRn fan! I just saw them live in 2022 with Helmet and Evanescence and they were amazing. Helmet and Evanescence put on a good show but KoRn blew them away!
I'm still absolutely baffled that L. Shankar, a classically-trained Indian violinist who has played with other renowned artists like Zappa and Peter Gabriel is here playing violin and doing backup vocals for Jonathan Davis, at the age of 57!! Talk about strange bedfellows. And he's so into it too! How many classically-trained world musicians from the 70s who were brought up with very different styles of music would be this into a genre of music that only arose 20 years later? It's always so refreshing to see older musicians be this open-minded. His contributions to the Queen of the Damned soundtrack made the songs sound so much more than just average nu-metal, and it shines through even more here.
I always thought that was done on an instrument or effect thing. like a modified oboe or something. never knew it was a person til this video. absolutely amazing
Sometimes it depends on who you know and can work with. For example-Metellica and their double live S and M done with a orchestra where one did not overstep the other-a good symmetry. Jonathon Davis's dad used to be a musician who played with Buck Owens and Frank Zapa as a keyboardist.
Sounded that good at the time! I was at this gig and it was f**king incredible. I've seen koRn and a couple of other JD's solo performances, and they've all been real good, but this one definitely stands out.
Swear to the God's I got a tat of his entire name on my heart because of that song. Yeah, I'm a dork 🤷🏻♀️. But I felt like it's a thank you and I love you too kind of thing. That song is so heartfelt dude.
Omg this is so bad ass and I had no idea it existed☠️. And I love the Queen of The Damned songs being in the set list. I’m glad he could perform them like this, since they go so well with orchestral music.
So, apparently Jon wrote the original soundtrack (lyrics and all) but due to a contract (if I'm not mistaken) he was with Sony in so they didn't want his voice appearing on the soundtrack.
Totally, the arrangement of the music is fascinating. before people can go off and talk shitt about Nu Metal, that it's just loud and distortion, this performance proves them wrong. It's actually EXTREMELY light in guitar....It's mostly Jon's amazing voice, Piano, Cello, Analog Bass, and Violin dominate the sound. It works brilliantly.
should check out jonathan davis sirius radio sessions. they do all the queen of the damned songs in a non nu metal style, but also different from this concert's versions.
This man is an absolute gift from the heavens! I never get tired of watching him perform and what a joy to see him just evolve and grow over all these years! As fans we’re so lucky he chose to be sober-it kept his voice in great condition. Every time he sings 4U...Chills listening and watching him perform Forsaken!!! Alone I Break is one of my personal faves and I love it means so much to him too...In August 2019 my cousin(and fellow FREAK) got tix for us to see Korn for my birthday-25 years since we first heard “ARE YOU READY” and it changed us forever! Just a few weeks before the concert she died suddenly and left an endless black nothing(I lost my cousin in the same way he lost his wife) and just a couple months later I was listening to The Nothing. He has no idea how therapeutic and freeing his music and lyrics have helped me. She’d always tease me I only married my husband 17 years ago to have my own John Davis(his real name lol). Now it’s 26 years later and I’ll be watching the virtual concert 4/24/21 and I will be rocking with my cousin and I hope Jonathan and Korn keeps going forever! Lily White-I should’ve posted this long ago-THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS! Losing those most important to us shouldn’t make this mean so much more now, but it does! STILL A FREAK🖤 KORN FOREVER🖤
I’m so sorry you lost your cousin. I have also lost people in my life to depression and suicide and drug overdose. This music helps me through my pain, just as you have described. Jon has experienced so much pain, and luckily for us, he shares his incredibly damaged yet beautiful & soulful spirit with us through his music.
Incredible! This performance of Hey Daddy is one of the best things I have seen. It's amazing how Jonathan can put so much emoticon and It feels so real. He clearly love what he does.
I've seen them live a few times...and I thought this hey daddy performance was so moving. Literally almost brought me to tears tbh. Lol his voice is so powerful and painful. Such an incredible thing to hear.
After much deliberation and 27 years as a KoRn FangiRL seeing them live, having all their albums and much merch, listening to every live performance imaginable and scouring the internet for rare JD tracks from his pre-Korn time I am going to say This is his best performance of "4U" ever.
Well done! Yes, as well as everything in between...the unseen is much more powerful than the material. He's truly done a service to humanity. Guess you could say, "takes one to know one", as far as a clairvoyant, conduit or channel. Intuitive gifts can (and usually do) cause much pain and suffering. And the risk we take in being & staying authentically us requires one to have a VERY strong will & determination and courageous heart. The last 26 years are proof in action of that, thanks to this man. #StayWeird Much love, A loyal KoRnKid & dedicated fReak ✌ #GenX #CapriKoRn
JD never disappoints EVER!!! he is an absolute phenomenon..his vocalizations combined with this ensemble of incredibly skilled musicians is a perfect pairing of epic proportions..just wowwww
What a cathartic concert! I have been listening to this daily for 6 days now. 12yrs sober yesterday. Quite a fucking Beautiful Chaos! 🎭 Been resonating with the emotional release in their lyrics & instruments. It is helping me to purge old outdated shit I don't need anymore. That stuff that keeps me stuck. So I can move forward with my life. That fucking gutteral, Shamanic & primal scream in that song 'just want to laugh again.' I feel his depth of honoring pain & the releasing of it in that scream! His entire being was emersed in that shit! Fucking Incredible! Must have been insane to witness that from the front row! I wish I could scream & move my body like he does in that chair! So damn provoking! He is a Warrior on a deep healing journey. I am too...💞🙏🎭 This is the best fucking show I have ever seen. Really well done show & the filming was great! His interaction with the crowd was fun! He is a gift to the world! Love that 'its haunting me' part. Spoken Word!
Gawd DANG these musicians are INCREDIBLE I clicked on this from curiosity and couldn't stop or switch it off as it's SO GOOD the cellist and violinist/whatever that thing is are INCREDIBLE. And of course, JD gives me tingly feelings. He's amazing
Agreed 100%. I'm so sad that Shane (the guitarist) passed away. He was so very, very talented. They all are. I was at this show and it was absolute fire. RIP Shane Gibson.
Just saw korn last night Tampa ,FL. He and fellow band members still put a great show together and have stunning talent. Always a pleasure when they come to town. 95 was first show I saw them and seeing them every chance I get
For those who recognize, it’s Queen of the Damned songs from the movie. And for those who REALLY don’t know, ladies and gentlemen, meet Johnathan Davis, lead singer of Korn! He represented a music movement that happened in the late 90’s, some know it as Nu-Metal. Korn is getting some newer respect these days. As usually happens to deserving musicians who still inspired in their time, yet seem to gain momentum as the years pass. In other words…..LEGENDS.
Fucking amazing intro! I always lovers how they did that soundtrack! It’s like the dubbed Stuart Townsends voice perfectly with the other artists! Like that’s Jonathan D... no wait it’s lestat no definitely Jd
his vocals sound better also... shame the leaked quality wasn't CD quality from memory... i hope that changed since... 6 tracks from memory... big fan of that OST
Seen koRn 6 times, WISH I were here!!!! By far the BEST OF THE BEST! Brings so much energy and his vocals are always Prestine! NO ONE can do it like JD, NO ONE!
korn has always been a band that spoke to me through music, every time I listen it seems that I enter another dimension, full of deeply crazy feelings and emotions, but that understand me and make many things make sense
I grew up with grunge and the unfortunate hair metal that came before it. Nu metal was a bit of a bust, yet Korn has stood the test of time for good reason. Jonathan Davis has one the best metal voices ever. Something about the way he screams and growls though the words that has such emotion. Add the music and it puts me in a trance, so good.
Man, I wish he would tour like this again. When I saw this lineup I stood there in awe the whole time. Absolutely one of the top shows I’ve been to in my life.
I have been waiting for the full version of this for the longest time. I love JD!!! Was so happy that I got to see him on the black labyrinth tour. He played his queen of the damned songs too.
sally3rdr I was fortunate to see an awesome KoRn concert September of 2017 then bam, Black Labyrinth show May of 2018. Both were absolutely amazing. Even got my wife to come with me.
I am totally hooked at this gig... this is really Amazing... the arrangements are out of this world... Korn is Awesome but this is just the Davis Masterpiece... Impressive by all from the 1st second to the last...
RIP SHANE GIBSON. What a gifted musician, only to pass all too young, like so many tragically do. I guess there’s a kick ass band in the afterlife that they all go too.
I forgot how much I love korns music and just made me love how much Jonathan is enjoying himself to be doing something different and getting all the same love as he as always got from the real fans of korn! I still remember the first time I ever seen the video and heard about the band korn, it was blind and they were all wearing Adidas jump suits and it was fucking new and awesome to see
Phenomenal. Discovered KoRn late in the game but so glad I did. I am in the process of listening to all of their music and am BLOWN AWAY by just the raw talent and energy. I had no idea Jonathan Davis wrote half the soundtrack for Queen of the Damned and as a huge Anne Rice fan, I really think Sony committed a huge crime against the arts with that soundtrack situation. So glad he is performing these amazing, timeless songs he wrote.
What albums have you checked out? Have you listened to their demo tape and the other ones that didn't make it to official albums? Proud is one of my faves 😊
I love his passion for his art,I lissen to this hole set a few times a week,it helps me in ways I don't fully understand, thankyou you dark beautiful soul for adding to my days
SFA is definitely the correct word. Strictly Fucking Amazing. This is what happens when you have a group of classical trained musicians playing Korn . Love it. 1st time Jonathan played live with a real bassist. Shane Gibson ....RIP , 8 string master. Shankar , great addition , love the twisted melodies he throws in
