There's a lot of time spent on Dual-Nat players between the US/Mexico....I'm curious because I don't know, when was the last "high profile" Mexican-American player that has featured for Mexico after flipping? They did not bring any to the WC. Now maybe a lot of these players don't develop and aren't good enough, but it kinda feels like Mexico flips and ties these players with no intentions of ever using them when it counts.

Exactly. Mexicans are usually xenophobic towards Americans of mexican heritage

He seems pretty level headed and like a sharp kid. Hope he will go with the US and can break into the US senior national team.

Great prospect! Could be huge for either NT. Let's hope he makes the right choice and chooses the US.

very mature guy he knows rn he should just soak in the experience. Also im happy that he got the shock of being in one of the top 5 leagues of the world it shows hes aware of his growth and potential and like he said it wasnt bc he didnt feel like he belonged there (lo que pasa con muchos jugadores mexicanos que se aguitan cuando no puden jugar a ese nivel) he just knew he needed to adpat which by the sounds of i think he will

It's simple. You're an American. Born here. If you are good enough to play for the US, you do it. If you're not, then go play for Mexico.

@Dachshund Nah, little one, and you can't quite say why. Right now, the US team is better than Mexico's. While they aren't far ahead, he's an American. His parents fled Mexico for a better future, got that future, and no sane person should play for the team of the nation from which his parents fled.

If you’re not good enough to play for Colombia play for USA (ferreira), you’re not good enough for Mexico play for USA (pepi made by Mexico youth system), if you’re not good enough for Croatia play for USA (pulisic) if you’re not good enough for Poland play for USA (slonina) .. should I keep going?

Yeah that’s Mexico why Araujo and Ochoa had to leave US for Mexico because they aren’t better then Scally or Dest and Turner

Lol 😂 Colombia and US have the same history at the World Cup. Poland has irrelevant since the 70s. Nice try but neither are better than the US 😂

The US will hire any foreign athlete, no questions asked. But how often does any country other than China hire foreign people to do anything? Especially acting. Where we have Daniel Craig, Pattinson, half of Hollywood is foreign now, yet, those opportunities are never extended to Americans abroad. NOT THAT I SEE. Where again, Jonathan seems like a mature young man... but is this worthy of media attention? This kid couldn't play JV basketball at my high school...

The sheer amount of stupidity in this one comment is truly impressive. Well done.

He isn't foreign though. He was born and developed in the US. If anything he is the foreigner football wise in Mexico.
