Stage lights are hot. Costumes are heavy. Singing requires a lot of saliva to keep your mouth and chords lubricated. I have definitely been the sweat-towel monitor backstage... nobody said making art was glamorous!

I was on the front row center on May 24th and I knew what to expect. I told my friend to be prepared. It was so worth it for a “private” seat to this amazing show and Jonathan’s talent (the whole cast’s!)

When I saw Merrily a couple of months ago, I was in the 3rd row center, and a huge spit ball came out of him and hit the woman next to me! She was not thrilled 😂

If Jonathan is sweating that much, he must be scarey fit. And drinking enough fluids. Also, if I don't see spit, the actors aren't trying hard enough. I grade down for dry floors.

everybody is laughing about this, but i think it is really inconsiderate for jonathan groff to just make everyone around him deal with it. i am sure there is something he could do to at least make it less frequent.
