Do us all a favor Jonathan and write a book about your life. Thank you 🙏 P.S. When they turn your book to audio please narrate it yourself, so that we as a people have access to your warm voice always. For when you speak I melt like butter on toast. Once again, thank you and good day.
Jonathan's experience is much more profound and universal than Josh's story about his kid. Every one of us has a voice inside and can relate to moments when we hesitate to follow it -- and anyone who claims they don't have that voice is living an inauthentic life where they're running from themselves in every moment. In fact, the more I think about it, both Josh's and Jonathan's stories are about the same thing: living an authentic life. Children are so often afraid to grow up because they see so many unfulfilled/inauthentic adults going through the motions or caught in a cycle of boring things like sellout jobs or trying to be better than the Joneses. Ava is afraid that The Unknown is going to be that empty life instead of a joyful, present life like hers is now.
I've watched like four interviews with Josh and Jonathan in it and all the comments are "I want a man who looks at me it's the way that Jonathan Groff looks at Josh gad" and all I have to say is I love it
Jonathan: [spends every interview with Josh half on his lap, holding his hand, and giving him moon eyes] Also Jonathan: I am an emotional WALL and nobody even SUSPECTS I have feelings because I am so STOIC.
Josh Gads daughter: has that sad moment at 5 me almost 16: has barely come to terms with the fact that it's almost time to find scholarships and hasn't spoken out loud in a week because I'll sob
Because it represents something that for a long time was very uncommon to see depicted in the media. A male character experiencing and processing love & longing and showing himself as emotionally vulnerable instead of a variety of stereotypes. But that's just me personally.
No judgment. Just found it interesting that Jonathan came out kind of late and only after Spring Awakening. Can't get any more gay-friendly than the musical theater world and that particular show. I wonder what factors influenced his coming out journey - career, family, religion, etc.
Everyone else: Omg Groffsauce so cute!!! Me: Holy Crap, JoshGad constantly plays the comic relief, but hes really freaking smart and well spoken! I'm impressed!
The fact that the last season of Alias was his splurge for Spring Awakening... Jesus why can I not be in his same sphere of life and be a match for him? lol What a lovely soul.
I got to be on stage with Josh Gad (and Jesse Tyler Ferguson) in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Broadway years ago. At every performance they recruited three audience members to come on stage to compete with the 'kids' in the cast. I had no idea I would have to sing and dance but Josh and Jesse both did their best to make the amateurs feel comfortable. Jonathan, I watch you sing I'll Be Back at least once a month on RU-vid. You crack me up every time.
Am I the only one who’s really surprised that Jonathan’s parents apparently completely accept him as a gay man considering he’s half Mennonite? That’s pretty uncommon.
jonathan blinks a lot in this which is funny because he blinked a grand total of like four times during the entirety of you'll be back in hamilton LMFAO
3:53 I know of an actor who didn't come out to his family as gay until his 40s.............and then died at just 48. His name was Jonathan Crombie and he was apparently just as beautiful on the inside as he was on the outside. I bring him up here because it just breaks my heart that my LGBTQ+ peers can feel they have to wait that long to openly be themselves. Waiting until your 20s........your 40s..........your final years to free yourself of the burden of being in the closet is a lot. I did not come out as Asexual until I was 19 because I'd finally found a name for my sexual orientation so my experience eith being in the closet was different from theirs - I didn't realize I was in the closet until I left it.
They are so deep about it...I LOVED the movie but NONE of this stuff crossed my mind when I watched. It's just a fun, light, Disney princess movie for me and that is PERFECT!!!
The song Jonathan sings in hamilton, his first song has been stuck in my head for weeks. It's probably be I have Hamilton playing on every tv in my house on a loop! I love him so much! I love him in his Netflix show mindhunter, excellent show! I just love him in everything 😍
Don't know a single person who saw frozen 2 but I don't know a single person who didn't see frozen 1. They definitely should not have made a sequel! "Big mistake, huge! "
Attn: To all those who are jealous of the way Jonathan looks at Josh. Josh is a man in a committed relationship with kids Jonathan. . .isn’t. Though I wouldn’t rule out the idea of a close Bromance.
Jonathon Groff has been promoting himself as a superstar since his teens. He "ain't" a teen anymore. Meanwhile, his Lancaster, PA cohort Taylor Kinney HAS been a superstar on CHICAGO FIRE for a dozen years. There's hardly a comparison.
