If someone says Jesus to him in a joking/knowing way, he doesn’t. But when someone is approaching him in a somewhat awed state and calls him Jesus: he humbly says “Hi, I am Jonathan.”

I understand that you are not Jesus, but we connect to him through you. God put you in that position to bring people to him. Through your acting. It’s a great gift. We love you Jonathon! I pray that people remember to separate you from the messiah. You can’t be someone’s savior if you too need a savior. I have struggled for years with boundaries with others. I find a friend in someone and I accidentally let them to far into my life. I can’t be someone’s everything so I’ve had a lot of heartbreaking conversations that left me feeling bad because I hurt someone without meaning too. I so much want to resemble Jesus that I forget that Jesus had boundaries. He gave a lot of his time to others but he also went away by himself to meditate and to pray. He needed that time away because of how overwhelming it was. I see that in stardom. Everybody knows you and everyone wants time with you. But that’s literally impossible. And what’s really hard is that yes people look at you and have a mental image of Jesus, who they have always wanted to see but can’t physically see. I hope that people are respectful of you and applaud how you’ve handled all the stress and promoted Christ first. And from the beginning you’ve never claimed to be the real Jesus. Continue fighting to be closer to the real Jesus so that we see more of his qualities through both your acting and life. And if you make a mistake just know I and my family will still respect and love you. Not only as an actor but as a brother in Christ!

By saying "When he said he would return, he meant that the internal Christ of each one will return," YOU are putting your own spin on things. Yes all of us require humility and to work, doing the best we can for our families and our fellow man, following the second great commandment to love thy neighbour as thyself. He does a great job but I do feel bad that people call him Jesus or see his face when they pray, etc. That's totally misguided. He's an actor, a good one, but he's not Jesus so we shouldn't put that on him. Please separate the actor from the Savior. They're not one and the same.

I love his depiction of Jesus on The Chosen. Because the Bible has been portrayed so relatable and real and lovable to this generation, it would be so easy to heap on Jonathan such expectation, but really we are all meant to be Jesus to those we meet. May this show encourage us to become who we were meant to be.
Hope the actor remains grounded and will not let fame go to his head. There’s so much danger there when a person becomes famous let alone from portraying our Lord, Jesus. Hope Jonathan is humbled by his celebrity status. People esp. fans idolized actors and famous persons but it’s dangerous when they regard him as the Messiah himself. God is a jealous God and we don’t want idolatry to set out of hand. He needs to remind himself that all his skills and talents are given by God. How can he only be acting? I mean, seriously, I can watch episodes and feel nothing but love in my heart for Jonathan. It’s nothing sexual either, pure love. I was never extra religious, I believe in God. But this man has brought me closer, how is that possible without divine intervention? That’s my opinion
Love how you play Jesus, Jonathon. When I watched Season one of The Chosen when it first came out & I saw the scene with Mary & Jesus placed his hand on Mary’s hand. I said out loud, “That’s Jesus!” Before they even showed you playing Jesus. Just the way his hand was placed on her & he said, “That’s not for you.” He said it with such authority & compassion ( or you did) Then when the scene unfolded outside and he called her name & healed her, I said out loud, “That’s my Jesus!!” Right away I identified with the way you played Jesus ( with Dallas’ directing). I have loved watching the rest of the series over & over again! My husband too! Thank you for being humble & true to your Lord & Savior Jesus Christ in honoring Him as you play this role with the feeling of responsibility! It shines through. This documentary is achingly touching. A few moments that really impacted me: the part where Francis Chan says he would be too afraid to take on the role of Jesus. The part where Jonathan breaks down after climbing the Scala Sancta on his knees. The part where Sheila E. describes how she believed she was super woman when she was young and had to suffer tragedy to learn the truth. The part where Alice Cooper says his manager advised him his career was over when he turned to Christ. The horrible/hilarious moment when Jonathan realizes he has a store security tag in his new coat jacket just as he's about to meet the Pope. But the scene that truly broke me was at the end, when Jonathan's video diary follows his moment of final surrender. Beautiful. Oh - and the funniest part. Jonathan with his bestie giving us a California surfer dude version of Jesus performing miracles: "Boom!" Hilarious. Highly recommend.
Jonathan you have shown the human side of Jesus, his love, his laughter, his sense of humor, his grace, his tears. This part of him of him was never portrayed, and I feel so much closer to him now. Thank Jesus for choosing you for the job.

Just finished watching all 4 episodes of this Docuseries, of Jonathan and Jesus, on Amazon Prime. The effect is what always happens, when Jesus speaks through his various people, not just Jonathan... LOVE: love for our Creator, Jesus, and people. My prayer: please Holy Spirit, do in me and all your people, what Jesus promised you would do: "take Jesus' words and reveal Him to us."
Jonathan, the task you have been assigned is monumental... Here are great words of wisdom I was once told, "Carry 2 things with you ALWAYS!!! 1. Carry HUMILITY in your right hip pocket (To keep yourself Humble)... and 2. Carry a HUGE MIRROR in the other pocket... So that when praise is thrown toward you, pull it out and reflect that praise UPWARD toward Jesus (where it belongs)..." 🙏

It is time to awaken, to see the person the message that has spanned over 2000 years. I am humbled and grateful to all who have worked on this. When Lilith walked away and you called Mary Magdalene my heart burst open and I sobbed from the very depth of my soul because you touched a hidden part inside. My prayer is that the people give you space to breathe as you move into the most challenging phase yet. I see the past so clearly as you prepare for the final calling. I love the way Jonathan Roumie portrays Jesus. He's got such a great personality and an authenticity about Jesus. And I love how they are also referencing Jesus in other areas even ones that are parodies that disrespect him so we can show everyone he's the real deal. I'm excited to see how more people will come to Jesus through this awesome show, especially people that dare mock him. You do feel this huge responsibility to portray him. I am not comparing myself to Jonathan Roumie, but I felt the same responsibility when I portrayed him in our small production at Mississippi College Spring '2021 in the musical "Godspell" where I played him and I'm happy to say it was a huge success! My girlfriend and I love this show so much :) Praying this reaches so many people.
This is a beautifully done and deeply authentic documentary. The openness, vulnerability, humanity, and conviction of all in the film are palpable. It’s a portrait of the faces of discipleship. Love it!
Honestly I sometimes picture him when I’m praying to Jesus, not on purpose, but because Jonathan’s portrayal of Jesus has left such an impact on me and made me feel closer to Jesus. I sometimes have to push his face out of the way in my mind (lol) so that the real Jesus knows I’m praying to HIM, not him. Still, I think what Jonathan has done so far is beautiful, and is bringing so many others closer to Jesus.
What a great opportunity he has to think so much about Jesus, and try to emulate his life. If all of us could think of him as much as he has to because of his job, it would be a better world. It must be a really big burden for him, but also an amazing gift.
He’s taken a huge risk portraying Jesus in The Chosen. He’ll be typecasted for it. And that’s a death knell to an acting career. Will he be able to play a bad guy next? Will he be able to do risqué scenes in other movies? It’s difficult and it’s frightening. It won’t be easy to for him to shed the role off when a lot of people recognize him as the actor who did a great job of humanizing and making Jesus relatable. How can you come out of that? I pray God will help and guide him. May He continue to give him strength and resilience. God knows his name, knows who he is and knows his heart. I’m sure He will guide Jonathan through it all.
When I pray, and talk to Jesus, to God. I see your face looking at me, like how you look at Mary Magdeline, how you take her and accepted her. How she cried to your shoulders. Amazing! And I always hope when that day come, it will be Jesus holding my hand before i give my last breath.

What you do and what Jesus tried to do is very similar you try to bring people to God❣️ I think the father approves and blesses you as you go through your journey… he’s proud of you, and I do think he chose you to play Jesus. I am sure this is very hard for you. Very stressful for you a lot of pressure on you, but I know you know what this means. Fam millions that have hope in Jesus that know the way that you portray him gives them hope that he might just might be real. I have no doubt he is. I have met him. He is everything. I love him desperately for all he’s giving me. Especially for his LIFE… no one has ever sacrificed their life for me.
I still see Jonathan. But you are doing an amazing job. It has brought me closer to God, and studying His word each day. I love how all of you make them more human. When I read my Bible, it makes me notice things more about them as just people trying to follow God.

I haven’t seen the movie/documentary, but what I have see so far from him and from this clip points more towards him struggling with fame but even more with people identifying him as Jesus. Unless we walk in his shoes, let’s not accuse him of pride. It’s always easy to do, sitting behind that little screen on a keyboard.
Not saying hes not but there was already controversy on the set of the chosen season 4 with placing in front of the camera symbols of sin, I hope this has nothing to do with this actor, tho the one who plays Judas was in support of sin with his posts on Twitter. Jesus once said "I never knew you..." Not everyone who calls Lord's name will enter the kingdom of heaven.
