Man, do I love Christmas music! Just to give you an idea, I actually listen to Rod Stewart's “Merry Christmas Baby” album in the middle of summer. So when I was asked to cover a Christmas song this year, I was more than happy and I lit up like a little Christmas tree. I felt like a kid again unwrapping my first present of the morning.
“Driving Home For Christmas” was written by the UK's Chris Rea & was first released in 1986 and upon hearing it for the first time, I fell in love with the song and thought it would suit me perfectly.
Then I immediately thought about Corey Hart - how amazing & fun it would be to have him featured on the song giving both our fans a little extra Christmas gift.

I'm blown away by how amazing this sounds. Nice modern spin, that suits their voices perfectly. As a life-long Corey Hart fan, I have to say that when that familiar voice chimes in with "it's gonna take some time" my heart does a little pitter-pat. It's good to hear him again. I adore the video. Love how the director captured their relationship, and all the smiles and laughter. Bravo!

I usually refuse to play Christmas music in my house until after (American) Thanksgiving, but this is on constant replay since it's release....I will allow this one to play for many more times on repeat before it will be all Christmas music, all the time at my house - with this one being played on more heavy rotation. Many sweet memories regarding this song. Thank you. 😊 Great job with the video! Many great spontaneous moments, love seeing the 'boys' just being boys. 😉 ❤️❤️

Hi Jonathan, I usually never like remakes, but I have to say, you did this very well, in fact, I'll say amazingly well, amazing great job. You kept true to Chris Rea's classic, keeping the tune the same, and your voice really suits this song well. Nice to see you thought of your Montreal boy Corey Hart. He should officially come out of retirement, he still has the pipes. Great song, thank you !

Thanks for your comment. I have never looked to how well a song ranks on the billboards, otherwise I'd be listening to Brittany Spears and the like, but I hear what you are saying. Either way, it's a well-written song, no matter who performs it. Merry Christmas or happy holidays!

This is FUDGING AWESOME!! VERY WELL DONE!! Kudos to the director!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Its amazing!!! Love the story line..how Jonathan gets picked up in the truck by Corey Hart...reminds me of the Never Surrender video and Truck :) ....lots of smiles..JR taking a leak LOLOLOL...or standing on the ROOF of the Car to get phone reception LOLOL....THIS SONG AND VIDEO IS TOP NOTCH!!!
