Look at the video of Burke being interviewed by the child Psychologist? Burke demonstrates I believe how she was hit but I think he said someone used a hammer. Every interview, John Ramsey almost always makes it a point to say she died from strangulation because he tries not to mention the head blow because he knew Burke was the one who struck her. It's common sense.
As far as I remember she was also garrotted with a chord after being struck on the head and it seems she was still alive at that point as she was clawing at her throat and left fingernail scratches. Also there was part of a paintbrush found inside her private parts. This seems like such a gruesome thing for the parents to do to cover up for sibling rivalry (allegedly). Why did they not just say she fell down the stairs? Very bizarre.
@kieranjames4696, James, that is not true. She was not clawing at her neck. Steve Thomas explains in his book what the marks were around her neck. She was totally unconscious after that blow to the head. Brain dead. The shady parents are the ones who tied the garotte around her neck ( most likely John ) to convince everyone, NO PARENT COULD EVER DO THAT TO THEIR CHILD, SO IT MUST HAVE BEEN AN INTRUDER. Well, think again! It was the parents staging. Who the hell is going to tie a rope around the wrists of a child who is unconscious and they were loosely tied for appearances only. Same as the duct tape over her mouth. She could have never screamed because she was out cold. This was all for show. They even inserted a piece of the broken paintbrush into her gently to make it appear as a sexual assault. They did this to protect their son Burke. Case closed.

I believe Burke hated her and was annoyed by her existence bc of how much time she was with her mom doing beauty pageant stuff. This is what I believe happened: when they got home she was put to bed. Burke and parents downstairs. He was having his favorite snack of pineapple in milk. She got up and went downstairs for whatever reason. Burke was probably teasing her that he was having his favorite snack so she ran up and took a few pieces. (Partially digested pineapple was found in her stomach contents). He instantly got angry and hit her in the head with that black flashlight. From there she was unconscious. Her parents freaked out and covered it up. Patty did the note and the father did whatever he did to Jon Benet leaving her in the basement. It’s all very sad to everyone but Burke. He had hurt his sister before with her needing ER visits. If he regretted it then it was for fear what would happen to him. I don’t think he cares at all about what he did or how it affected his parents then and now. They helped him cover it up (they chose him over her) and that made him happy and he went on his merry way living his life as he wishes.

Fighting over pineapple with her brother ,as pineapple was found in here stomach. They think her brother hit her with a flash light on the head , so I think they set her up to look like someone broke in and got her . Poor little girl.
If this was all true, why would parents not call an ambulance or take their daughter to the hospital immediately? That decision from the mother to just cover up an alleged accident doesn’t make sense, but I guess she was just desperate. Who wants to lose both of their kids? The whole thing is just a giant tragedy.
@odettehernandez5150, Because they thought she was dead. She had a very faint pulse. I am sure they were trying to revive her by calling her. They staged this elaborate crime scene to fool the world! They got away with it but they did not fool everybody. Many believed all along they were involved. So didn't the BPD. Many can say Patsy did not get away with it because she died 10 years after JonBenet from cancer. She was only 49. I would love to see Burke pay.

Burke was always jealous of his younger sister. It was reported that Burke smeared feces on her toys and even her bed. The young lad had some emotional issues and perhaps was on the “spectrum”. His interviews with psychologists at the time cued on the pineapple bowl, he didn’t answer for a long time. He had a temper because he had hit her with a golf club in the face when he was younger. No parent could do that to their child even if it was part of the staging. Well , they did. Both Ramseys lied about the bowl of pineapple. Patsy put it there for Burke. Her fingerprints were on the bowl and the spoon. It was fresh pineapple too. Not the one in the can so it was Patsy that served it. They knew the pineapple i believe is what started this whole thing.

It might be a naive question cause I don't know the law in the US but why didn't they admit to the authorities that it was the boy who accidentally struck his sister? Her brother was too young to be sent to prison anyway, I suppose? I think the parents stunted their son's emotional development by forcing him to lie about the accident. I believe the mother needed to control the outside narrative so she made everyone lie.

It's said that the brother and JB were having a snack at the table/pineapple treat?, late the evening before, and JB waited for her treat, and grabbed at something and brother Taunted her, and responded by hitting her with a bat, or to that effect...killing her by accident. Therefore all else became a production, in order not to lose both of their children at the same time. This is exactly what I had thought all the time. Exactly, I think he (the brother) was always jealous of his sister because she got ever moment of her mother’s attention. I feel he asked for the peaches or whatever it was then she came down and asked for water. And he got jealous that she was getting the attention again.

My attention was drawn to the brother from day one of this case and I did consider he had some kind of behavioural or developmental condition that could explain an attack that wasn't intended, let's assume mummy and daddy are in the lounge bickering over something the kids are by the cellar door which is open, the kids are bitching probably because the parents are, the brother lashes out and Jon Benet falls backwards down the steps, she's broken her neck and is obviously deceased.. why would you go to those extremes as parents to cover it up? this makes me rethink the brother, although I do think he knows far more than he's ever admitted..
There had been a previous incident where the brother struck her in the face with a bat. If he hurt again that night, there had certainly been a precedence of violence.

I don't believe the tarot cards are right with this one. Its unlikely a family, who came home late & exhausted, after indulging in Xmas celebrations & had an early flight next day would wake up, let alone have a fight. Jon Bennet was taken to bed already asleep when they arrived home, so why would either child wake up & want to eat pineapple in the middle of the night, Jon Bennett would probably have had a drink by her bed. How could a child possibly make intricate knots with nylon cord & why would they even be in the kitchen. Doesn't make sense. Why would the mother write a 3 page ransom note knowing every word could implicate her. I saw so much hurt, misunderstanding, accusation towards this family, who had no motive or reason to murder & a son who had been victimised for being shy & painfully hurt. The cards are definitely misleading and their interpretation is totally illogical. So many untruths have been told about this family causing them unjustified fear, anger, and emotional pain. I hope KARMA soon catches up with all those uncaring and hateful behaving people who continue to victimize this family by making absurd comments without any conclusive evidence to justify their false beliefs. If there had been sufficient legal evidence obtained for a jury to criminally convict a family member, then the DA would have brought charges against that family member. In fact, the assistant DA wrote the family a letter several years later that apologized for how they had been totally zeroed in on as the perpetrators by the Boulder Police Department and now the DA's office has totally absolved them of Jon Benet's death. Jon Benet does not need anyone to pray that she forgives her brother for killing her. To make such a statement is shameful and utterly disturbing. There are so many legitimate pieces of evidence that the police and many others have twisted, denied, or buried in order to blame the family based on gut feelings, visions, dreams or other disturbing reasons. To continue to spread this nonsense on the social media needs to stop. Why would anyone take pride in continuing to spread their personal anger, hate, and false information on the internet toward a family who has already experienced unbelievable emotional pain and victimization upon the murder of their young daughter and who several years later had been totally absolved of this crime forever by the DA's office in Boulder?
