Purchased the LWB COMPLETE couple years ago now. Love riding it Took a bit to get used to comming off my road bike. The large tires are the way to go for sure. Never have a problem getting off if the need arrives due to traffic Never had the front end to slide out from under me due to raised road beds and the small pot holes on the shoulder are not a problem. I still ride my road bike on occasion and I realize all over again how comfortable and stable my Jones is.

@@ujnawierzbie72 I watched another guy on youtube from asia and he loved it so I thought I would just try it and I loved it so much more. I really wanted to use the jones bar but I truly like this new bar better. Just way more control. Now my jones bar is gathering dust.

Hey Jeff, I live in the UK. I have a Salsa Mukluk.One of my rear wheels is 27+ and I have a Duro crux on it. Thinking about sticking a 29 Crux up front. Obviously the Crux has more mud (and we get a lot of rain in the UK) grip that Chronicles. But in your experience how much more rolling resistance does a Crux have than a Chronicle? I recon Crux front, Chronicle rear would be a great setup. Love your bikes. Cheers tOM

Most of the time bigger tires have less rolling resistance. It's why I use big tires with wide rims at low pressure.

Thanks Samuel! I'm 6' and I'm riding a medium SWB in this video. It's the same size I designed for myself when developing these bikes, so it's also a good fit for riders around my height. I recommend medium for you (SWB or LWB) unless you are ok with having less top tube standover clearance in trade for a larger frame pack. Also, since the large size has more reach, you would need a shorter stem (than with the medium) to keep you light on your hands like with the medium. I don't usually ride a large, but when I do I use a shorter stem (than with my medium) to keep my reach to the bars about the same. This puts me and my center of gravity towards the rear a little compared to the more centered position I have on the medium. With my weight towards the rear and the longer wheelbase of the large, it's great for high speeds and down steep trails. Syspension is a no going back evolution for me especially when some long life touring tyres rate minimum 65psi. I dont like the drag of wide low psi tyres even if it's 1% worse than thin tyres.

My bikes with big tires on wide rims with 14psi and upright body position will give you a more comfortable ride with less vibration and lower rolling resistance / drag than a bike with narrow and or smaller diameter wheels at 65psi, even with suspension. The traction and control is also better. Less flats and harder to crash too. I will never go back to narrow high psi wheels. Bigger tires are better for touring. They just sell and recommend smaller tires because they fit traditional touring bikes.

Milk crate will fit? I'm sold. I non-opted my vehicles about 9 years ago. I ride my bike with collapsible wire baskets on rear rack & milk crate in front. NOW, the biggest ? is what is the widest wheel that will fit in a front bus rack?

We have a bunch of info on our h-bars here (jonesbikes.com/h-bars/), but here’s the bit that relates to your question: “Most material/style combinations are available in two widths: 660mm and 710mm. Both have the same basic positions and the same shape, but the 710mm version adds a fully-upright position at the back of the grip area. This is a great position to have for touring and any kind of riding where you might want to sit fully upright without needing access to the controls. The 660mm version is best for navigating very tight singletrack or narrow city/commuting situations. Short wheelbase? What is it for a medium?

The wheel base is 42.98"/1091.72mm for the medium size. This information and more is listed in the description of the bike here: www.jonesbikes.com/jones-plus-swb-complete-bicycle/ The Jones Plus SWB is much shorter than the Jones Plus LWB.
