Joni discusses her early songwriting, the music industry and takes audience questions on this morning show special. She plays "Just Like This Train" and "Facelift".
(I see that some folks are complaining that the audio is out-of-sync with the video. I don't know why that happened - I just checked the original 1 gig file I uploaded to youtube and there is no sync problem in the original. If anyone believes they can repair this, please contact me and I'll send you the original file.)

In case anyone is wondering, the drummer playing with Joni is the fantastic Mr. Brian Blade, from Shreveport, La. - He has played with Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Daniel Lanois, and is THE Drummer with Wayne Shorter! - and also leads his own band - FELLOWSHIP, plays guitar, and sings, and Co-writes material with Ms. Mitchell. He is a Master Drummer!

Yeah I’m gonna cook me some apple oink. That may be the best live performance of “Just Like This Train” ever and I’ve seen a lot of them. Her guitar arrangement is so magnificently orchestral you think there’s a whole band there but it’s just her and Blade. Phenomenal.

oh just seeing her sitting there with those beautiful landscapes in her mind, maneuvering the questions with differing depths and qualities with clear and therefore amusing answers (amusing both to the people who don’t really like people being eccentric, and to the ones who do).. it’s quite overwhelming to me and I think I love her and I am endlessly inspired by her

I love everything you said with the exclusion of " eccentric " if in reference to Joni, any inclusion of the word seems to appear dismissive on some level which I cannot be a party to. The Lady's ART(S) are impeccable.

of all the music in the world,it was during the sixties when music sent a message to the powers that be,to stop a meaningless war in Vietnam, fast forward to NOW, we are still fighting? Let's put POWERFUL SPEAKERS on Humvees and Everywhere possible and PLAY MUSIC,PLAY THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF MAN. When she plays her guitar,it sounds like she has more than just one fine drummer with her. She is such a wonderful artist. She seemed happy in this video and if so,then she's right: happiness is the best facelift!! But itz an irrelevant issue concerning joni whose inner and outer beauty remains timeless.

Side note: Every time I watch an old clip I get totally distracted by the gross inappropriate touching of females by men (watch Harry talk to the female audience member as she asks Joni a question). Ewwwww. It’s on almost EVERY show with a male host and females!
