Jonny is such a tradesman, with staunch dedication to his craft. He doesn't always get the love he deserves, but he's out there, day in and day out, pushing and reinventing. Awesome showcase of an awesome rider.
46 year old here. Amazing tricks, hope Rodney Mullen is seeing this. And the quality of the filming is superb. Reminds me of Red Bull clips. And the choice of music fitted perfectly. Thanks for this piece of art.
may I suggest you watch "The Flatground Project"? Jonny did this several years ago but it's still one of the most inspiring and awe inducting skateboard artpieces I have ever seen.
Well, Johnny did it! He did every single Mullen trick in the Daewon vs Mullen videos. Without extreme persistence skaters will never be able to do 90% of the tricks in this video. Bravo!
This video feels like coming home. You can feel the love radiating out of jonny, look at that smile! And those are some of the most beautiful tricks I've ever seen. Beautiful work mate.
The locations and landscape shots, the folksy music, and the tasteful well-framed shots of him smiling, really captured alot of the vibe that makes Johnny unique in the skating world. Exceptional work.
This should be remembered from now on as a special time when the perfect skater, filmer, location and music came together to leave something beautiful for the world. Amazing.
Always look forward to your videos Brett! Fantastic! So glad you filmed with Jonny too! He's phenomenal! Also, man Switzerland and Liechtenstein are beautiful!
My God dude, I have missed your video work and content so much. This is such a pleasant surprise - and this is one of your best pieces yet. This skate film is so beautiful it's got me emotionally moved haha. You've not only celebrated Jonny Giger's raw passion and love for skateboarding, but also gave a touching tribute to Lichtenstein as a country too. It's like a love letter to skateboarding that you both have written together. Will definitely be catching myself rewatching this for months to come. Thank you for creating and posting this. Hope to see more from you. You're an inspiration! Both of you are.
As a freestyle skateboarder it's nice to see some freestyle thrown in there, such as the OG 360 flip and some of the railstand catches. Great video work as always!
I didn't say he mimicked it? Just appreciating that as a primarily flatland street style skateboarder, that he occasionally throws some freestyle into the mix for a video part. To my knowledge, I think Giger has only invented one trick, which is self named. Most of the other trick combinations he does are rare, but usually not NBDs. @@BlueFinch
Man I remember finding your channel when you were making these with Kilian and watching them religiously to get hyped to skate as a teen. Watching this now reminded me of then and all the good times. Damn near crying on my lunch break haha. This is a very refreshing kind of content compared to the majority of what’s pumped out these days. Thank you man
Two great tastes that taste great together. Having watched both Giger & Novak videos with keen appreciation, I never could have guessed this collaboration, thank deity the universe is not bound by my imagination.
thanks rodney and all the other inventors. 24 years skateboarding for me and im so proud to be a part of this beautiful sport we have. thanks brett for this awesome video and thanks to jonny for being on this planet. maybe rodney and jonny are collab some time? cheers
People like Jonny and those street parts are the reason, why after a pause of 9 years with some surgeries in between I grabbed a skateboard, drove to a park, which I know now for at least 14 years and just started to get onto it again... And I enjoy it :)
Oh hells yess! Awesome job Brett & Jonny (great tune too, Alela!). Long time fan of you two. So nice to see something new here - I hope you've been well in the interim! I've never seen the late impossible before 🤯!
The cinematography, the landscapes and Johnny's perfect style. A mixture of beauty in all forms creating a stunning film. Thank you for sharing this with the world. #Live2Sk8
I can just hear Jonny now…”aaaaahh, toe drag!” “Gonna do it again”. But that drive for perfection leads to the squeaky clean vid parts. Excellent skating and filming! Loved this piece
Duuuuude, it's been too long! The b-roll, the music, the sound design, and of course the wonderful skating of Jonny, all packaged together with the special Brett beauty.. now in 4K. Couldn't ask for more.
i legit forgot i'd subbed to this channel and suddenly all the reasons came back in the first 15 seconds - hope you continue to post, hope your time away from youtube was good. Lovely work
Never seen a more soothing skate film. btw for those who don't speak german the spot at 2:44 is called "Schulanlage Hanfland" which can be translated to "hemp county school" which is kinda fun
