What a great podcast! Listening from the UK, I’m not sure any of our podcast presenters (across any of the shows) would have had the ability to just let the man speak in that way, without their egos pushing them to interrupt! Great job boys!
How good it is to have the boys back. First group I have seen that brought a lighter side out of Jonny. You can tell he must have loved Toulon. Loving this show from Belfast
Congrats on the “new” show. I love the deeper, honest conversation with Jonny. Awesome to see a legend being so open about his vulnerabilities. Hoping to see more in-depth content and technical analysis.
Top show boys! Topped off with legend wilko. Goes to show the level of respect & friendship he has for you guys & impact you guys had on him to be in the show. He’s done fuck all in media or ex players podcasts etc in England. Unbelievable career after hearing the mental & physical torture he put himself through. 👏 never forgotten what he did for England
Superb guest with Jonny who is really interesting and knowledgeable about the game and I'm astonished at the mental side of it; even knowing he was intense HE WAS REALLY INTENSE. Love hearing the chat from the Once Were Wallabies and Prof hosting the gig well. I'm slightly concerned by the pleas for furniture and money but I'm in NZ and have no wealth so minimal offerings here. Hook up a Patreon if you get really desperate but hopefully love and interest keeps you going. Thanks to Gits for tuning in from Alex's house (superb guest and can wear the England beanie) and the team producing too.
1:14:24 Jonny talking about losing his speed. I played against Jonny in my mid teens he would have been about 16 or 17 at the time. Around then I was an 11 second flat hundred meter runner which at age 15 is national level. I can attest to the fact that when i played against Jonny he was blisteringly quick! He Absolutely tore our team a new one. The off the mark acceleration he had when we were kids was for sure something he seemed to have lost as he got older and maybe overtrained.
If Johnny evers reads the comments 😅: I remember as a child waiting to watch your weekly episode of JW bootcamp on channel 4 (or itv?) I think where you taught young kids your skills. My older brother who played 10 also had your book on how to kick. You were the Michael Jordan of rugby for me and many other young players for years so thank you so much! And that speech near the end of the podcast got us all wanting to put our boots back on! 😊😅 (as Drew said!) You will always be a legend (and you also made the french love an english player...Impossible is nothing). Cheers!
What an awesome episode!!! Great guest, great insights into rugby, the mental struggles at the top of a craft and the behind the scene struggles of dealing with injury but trying to stay relevant and performing at your best. Legends sharing stories and helping upcoming youths deal with the pressure that awaits pursuing your best in whatever endeavor they pursue. Looking forward to watching more episodes.
This is great boys! I’m a die hard kiwi all blacks fan but I have plenty of time for people who are passionate about the game regardless of what team they support.
Awesome show gents. Possibly the most honest and enlightening interview I’ve heard from a rugby player. Respect to JW for sharing his story. Love your chemistry and the bants. Keep it up, I hope you keep it afloat. From an Auckland based kiwi.
Great show guys! Such an awesome mix of intense and humour. Enjoy it all and especially hearing from JW. So happy you are back and can't wait for the next show. Come on sponsors give em ago!
great first show - love the 6N coverage - had to give up saying ‘shit it in’ during the RWC as it was the kiss of death to my favs 🏴 🇦🇺 but I could def summon up ‘Schmidt it in!’ going forward!! #lovingyourwork
Scmidting it in lads!!!!! Jonny' sharing with honesty and vulnerability was beautiful and so helpful for young ears to hear. Hope you get a couch for Biv's butt!
Good to see you fellas again! I paused this in the first ten seconds to send the link to a buddy who also watched…the old show! Great to have Jonny on too 👌
really solid first episode.. nice blend of funny and deep insights. Reckon jonny needed the aussie boys just as much as they needed him in toulon and you can tell through the stories :)
Thank you YT for sending this. Despite GBR adding the hilarious enigma that is Jonny May they are still way behind you boys for entertainment and rugby chat 👍
The 'see you Jimmy' hat is fine, but if you want to be a true Scot for the 6N you should have had a bollock hanging out your shorts as a nod to the kilt.
Hi there! So the live show is on the Sunday under super rugby lounge on Ticketek. Or come join us in the KOKO Bay on Saturday - premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=SUPERD224&eg=KOKO&ep=FANZONE
Love the show boys, but the All Blacks are gonna take a big steaming 4 coiler Schmidt all over the Wallabies, but Goodluck for the rest of the season 👍😀P.S it was Schmidt and Jason Ryan that put the All Blacks back on track
Shit it in! Watching in NC, Gits coming to Charlotte to get pumped by Charlotte Anthem, wank name or what! Was wondering if you were coming back or done! Literally came across this by accident. Need to spread the word!
