I never ran a 2152 that pulled like that little Sumbitch! He’s got that saw pretty dialed in? She’s absolutely a little torque monster to be ripping that setup through hardwood??? Damn impressive build!!!👍😉
I absolutely love the 353 type 45mm husky project’s and playing with the 350’s… this little saw’s definitely yanking chain with authority! That 48mm 365 jug buildup sounds like it would be very cool!👍😉
@@DaveyBlue32 The oem 45mm top ends can make very healthy power. Really good torque. I have an upcoming build where I’m using a Hyway 45mm quad port. Basically a 346 but 45mm. I got it super cheap from an eBay auction so it’ll be interesting to see how that comes out.
I've been cutting & burning firewood since 2003. I haven't bought a new chainsaw since my 2005 CS-2152. It's been my primary chainsaw for 18 years, & I have had no reason to replace it. My dad has given me his older Husky 257, but I like my CS-2152 better. My dad has also passed on his 2004 CS2165 to me recently, and I look forward to using it more. 2152 & 2165 will continue to be my primary chainsaws, & I see no reason to replace them any time soon.
Love my 2165 and my 365 special same saw basically just different colors. I have one other saw that goes with them and that is my ported 362 M-Tronic. All three rip!
That’s a freaking awesome amount of power you have gotten out of that saw!!! That’s freaking huge power boost!!! Ripping a 24” 3/8 in hardwood??? With a 50cc class engine??? That’s a freaking beast of a engine! That’s freaking insane amount of power with a 44mm? Size bore??? Just Damn impressive build!!!
@@novicelumberjack well you definitely deserve to be extremely proud of your results there … I know that when you slap a little 18” setup or something like that onto that little bad mama jama it’s going to be a lot more obvious to the folks just exactly how really impressive she’s pulling! You definitely have the right recipe for that saw because that little hot momma is punching way above her weight class, buddy! She’s absolutely gorgeous and she is pulling something fantastic! Something about those red and black saw’s that’s just freaking crazy awesome!!! Those JonnyRed’s are just in a class of their own! I just gotta get off my butt and find my 2165 air leak so I can get to play around with her some! LMFFAO!!! You have definitely built badazz bitch of a saw right there! Wicked strong for a little 50!!!
I own at least two of every saw mentioned. I prefer the Jonesred and Stihls but I haven’t had any time on my Echos! I have the 4910 and Boedy just finished porting my 590 cylinder. I will be running them soon as the weather gets a little cooler as it’s been triple digits and I’m not running anything but my AC unit!
On those if you don’t absolutely torque those clutches down they’ll loosen up long enough to allow the worm gear to get wedged against it and cause it to bind up. If you port them they need to be tightened down real good.
Must be like a 550xp best not start without a side cover or clutch and bearing is going flying then! We've had the 550 clutches come off after reving up and slamming brake on and they'll still come off on the bench!! My personal 550 type clutches I red loctite on since I'm the one that's going to be taking it back apart
@@novicelumberjack Yeah check it out it’s likely what the cause is. Could be something else but I’ve had mine do it enough times to recognize the symptoms. It’s a real pia too because it can really beat up the worm gear.
Yeah a little locktite so it’s freaking on there and it’s just a little propane torch hit in the end of the crank if it’s time to remove… I’ll deal with a little bit of time coming off when I know that sucker is tight and on there when I want it… I just impact without putting anything in the cylinder to smack down and pull off?
Boedy, have you ever played around with the 350/2150? Used ones can be found for peanuts and the 45mm closed port versions can be turned into fire breathers. I have a 2150 that I ported to Matthew Olson's specs with a 353 pop up piston. It RIPS! One of my favorite saws ever.
That 350 with the easily adjusted bearing cap to make a 346 or 353 great squish band numbers engine for relatively cheap is the best new guy’s builder that I’ve ever seen… you get a great little saw for decent investment… the OEM 346xp is $140? I love the 45mm epa husky with the popup piston myself 👍. Fantastic saw’s and they will cut a ton of wood too! I gut the transfer’s back to double and run the 357xp carb… 👍🙂
Thanks Pat! I'm finally getting there, I feel like. Now I need to build this the way I actually have always wanted to build it. 346xp jug and 357xp intake and carb. But no need for that anytime soon. Maybe I'll do that for next year's racing.
@cajun3197 Thanks to several folks like you, Aaron, Charlie, Gary, Garrett, Brendan, Matt, Tim, Jeff, Richard, Grant, Cole, Eric, Doug, Joe, Jon Bob, and on and on and on... I didn't get here without help. And I know I've still got a long way to go. But I have fallen into my own rhythm and I gotta say...I like it. It's working for me. I am 100% certain that none of my saws will win any of the races coming up. And I don't care. It's just fun to be a part of it all. And I'm preferring a saw they pulls steady chain over a fast saw too.
@@novicelumberjack yea I just like building a good work saw that’s fun to run and meeting good people. I could care less about winning any race at all. Lots of good people in this community.
