Joost went because of dream and a promise he made to his parents. Although it went totally different than planned, he will definitely be the most memorable of this year's edition. Who's the actual winner again? I don't know and I don't care to be honest, but dear parents of Joost...if you see this from whatever place and/or dimension your spirits reside in...your son did great! You can be proud of him and would definitely be if you both were still alive! Joost...what a madlad! He really kinda united alot of of people...(people in Europe, but also in other parts of the world)...
He wouldn't have won even if he wasn't disqualified unfortunately. He got 12th in jury votes I think, which is not enough even if he got a shit ton of viewer votes.

Even on this occasion, his video is viewed most of them all. He would have won big time on stage, now he won all of us big time. Great edit of a great song!
The song is actually pretty sad. It's a song dedicated to his parents who aren't alive anymore. But I agree that the slowed down version sounds even more sad.
The music was always this sad, but very subtle, disguised by the tempo, vibe and cartoonish vocal delivery. Perfectly laying the groundwork for the sad ending. Brilliant songwriting!
No bc I love how this, even when slowed down, is STILL almost 3 minutes long, the ESC standard for a song to compete, like if he went with this too, he still would've won wow, great job for making this!! 💙💙💙💙
