100% right with the comparison. I usually have to break in AJ1s but the soft leather on the university blues makes them feel very comfortable right out of the box.

Both are fire. Hyper royals are nice to rock with a nice vintage fit. I think if I had to pick, I'd choose the university blues but it's definitely a close one.

Blessed to cop both for retail, and even more blessed to have no glue stains on the UNCs. Leaning towards wearing the HRs and stocking the UNCs for a few years. See the price on that pair going crazy over time 😍

Looking up close, I appreciate the greys on the hyper royals. Gives it a bit of subtle character. I find the UNC is just too basic and flat to me

I had both. Sold UNC. QC issue and that bottom wasn’t doing it for me. The hypers are cleaner to me and Nike did a good job on QC.

University Blue 1s are so much nicer in quality. It's a no brainer. But having them both gives you the option of prolonging both pairs. They are pretty much interchangeable.

University Blue is better hands down. In terms of looks and quality. Hyper Royal is the more trendy look. I can see the streets fuckin with the Uni blues more and the suburb kids going with the Hyper Royals.

of course UNI blue. classic colour blocking, leather quality and black swoosh is a must in any classic jordan and wearable, less flashy than the hyper royal. the only bad thing of UNI blue is QC. i had retail and sell it because of inconsistency of the leather cut and get another pair off resell, still bad inconsistent QC . left and right toe box differ..

@@JoshDominic the leather cut isnt the same on both side of the shoes, my one had higher cut of the blue leather on the left side toe box compare to the right side. the heel where the wings logo also differ between left and right leather cut is terrible left and right looks differ if u pay attention closer

The Hyper Royals are just far more unique. The combination of colors with the smoke grey and the distressed blue with the white is such a great color combination. And yes, they should've been called the "Sky Blue Smoke Greys" The UNC 1's are super basic. Just boring.

Do not really know why, but at least on the pairs I have seen in hand and pairs I own, quality seems better on Hyper Royals, maybe some kind of QC mistake on those pairs but that is my experience, I would pick the Hyper Royals any day of the week over UNCs

That’s funny you said that at the end. i would find myself wanting to wear my hyper royals but my outfits would be so much easier to rock with the university blues. i ended up selling my hyper royals cause I found myself never wearing them. Ok I got a dilemma... I got the University blues in the recent drop in size 10 1/2. I was thinking about selling them bc they’re going for about 400$ rn and buying the Hyper Royals for like 350$ in 9 1/2 bc that’s my actual size ( I ordered the wrong size😑) but now I’m thinkin about selling them and getting university blues in 9 1/2 instead of getting Hyper Royals but idk I just can’t decide. Any opinions?
