Welcome back to another episode of Restorations with Vick! This week Mr. Almighty is working on a 20 year old pair of Michael Finley Player Edition Air Jordan 7s! These kicks are in deadstock condition, but sitting for so long without proper care has led to some serious aging in certain areas.
To kick off this restoration, Vick hit the toe caps with some RESHOEVN8R Sole Revive to remove the yellowing. A quick application and 30 minutes of UV lights in his indoor setup did the trick! On to the back tabs! This shoe is so old that the back tabs likely passed away years ago, so Vick went to eBay and found a pair of donor tabs from another pair that he could use for this project. Using a dremel tool, Almighty sanded down the back of the kick to ensure the new (but used) back tabs would adhere correctly. After a long process of adding simulating stitching, taping the shoe, and applying barge super stick to the shoe AND the back tabs, the tabs were ready to be applied!
After the tabs were safely secured, Vick used our newest kit - the Starter Kit - to give the kick a quick clean. This new kit is also available at Footlocker! Once the shoe was dry, the restoration king gave this size 15 shoe a quick pass with RESHOEVN8R Mink Oil which helped recondition the 20+ year old leather and will keep it in good shape for years to come!
