I am a Californian and can tell you the cost probably has a lot to do with the area. Space is not as available in California as other states. 10 acres is a lot of land here. I'm sure everything is also very high-end. I spend approximately $10K per month for living expenses with far less space. It's not uncommon. And, I'm definitely NOT rich. I may be considered low or mid- middle class. 🤷🏽♀️ Also, I've never appreciated our (pretty much year round) mild weather until visiting the East Coast a lot lately. There's reasons we pay a premium. I personally think it's worth it.... if you can afford it.
