The fact that this guy can hit 20mph at 340-360 is incredible. He's also humble, he's an overall class act. I've watched uga since 2000. I don't think I've seen a Georgia team be this humble as a whole with no selfishness EVER. That is also what makes them so dangerous.
Beyond his sheer power, whats really incredible is his combination of athleticism and strength to control a blocker enough to play one gap and redirect to make the tackle in another gap(or influence a teammate's tackle through impeding the flow of the play)........a true game changer
As a former 3/5 technique D-Lineman it’s always great to see one of our own leaving his mark in such a way. If you’ve played in the trenches, you know how difficult it is to make things happen. Big S/O to him ✊🏽✊🏽
Every play he gets double or tripled teamed. Imagine if that didn’t happen. He would be in the back field every down. He’s a legit good dude and us Georgia fans love this man.
Scary is, that he has still room to evolve. If he tightens up that core and strengthen the posterior chain, which ultimately result in an even more explosive and lower get off, he will be unblockable when only accounted by one O lineman. He can singlehandily take out your running game between the hashes by constantly controlling two gaps or collapsing the 0 to 3 technique perimeter. Crazy how high this young man ceiling is.
Strengthening core does the opposite. All of the most bendy and agile players have extremely strong cores. I just hope he focuses on flexibility and lower body strength early in his career to avoid injury. Those knees got a lot of weight to carry
He's a franchise player without a doubt. I laugh at the pre-draft projections that have him as the 2nd and 3rd DT off the board going as low as 27th in round 1. His smarts and character are off the charts as well. Helluva player and person.
@@constantinocampero6722 Hey is 21. They got him mixed up with another Jordan Davis that played at UGA from 2013-2018. Even Google got it screwed up. Imagine the kid graduating from highschool at 22 years old LOLOL
NEITHER of the two players mentioned in the reply to your comment have EVER had a game like SUH did against Texas. RU-vid that game because THAT performance is "the SINGLE GREATEST game a Defensive Tackle has EVER had!!!!"
@@gsactotube And? That’s college lol. Both of those players have been multiple time DPoY while Suh has been mediocre at best beyond a few pro bowl years early in his career.
My brother goes to uga and knows Davis, he says a real cool guy to talk to and he is never in a bad mood. So not only is he a beast he is also a cool person to hang out with.
I'm not a bulldogs fan but this man is a beast....He gon make a hell of impact in the NFL...i was watching 1 game & he pushed the guys back in their own end zone
I saw a couple of minutes and already can say you better pick this guy with your first round pick. He has the physicality that you cannot teach and he is a natural at reading where the ball is going to go.
I don’t see how he wouldn’t be a candidate for the Heisman. He’s been the most impactful and key weapon on the defense. It takes two to three tackles just to guard him. He’s intense and intimidating on the field, but turns into a friendly giant off it as he can be seen taking pictures with fans before a game starts and ends whenever he gets the chance in Athens. He’s also great during interviews, speaks very well and is willing to answer questions the best way he can. I don’t care if he wins the Heisman, he deserves to win at least one award for the effect he’s had on the defense. Jordan is a freak of nature and a DGD forever and I wish him the best of luck for his future of his career. #99 on the field, but #1 in every Dawg fan’s heart for years to come.
That 99 represent his overall 🥴... He's the reason Georgia number 1. Saw him live on TV being extremely disruptive against whatever team Georgia played that day. He's the best player on the best defense
@@caseyhouser9839 Did you see what happened when other conferences played the SEC? Michigan looked like a high school.JV squad against Georgia. Like it or not, the SEC by far has the best teams. That might change in the future but if the best HS football players want to play for a national championship they go to the SEC
Im 52 and been 👀 college 🏈 a long time. NEVER have i witnessed anything like this young man. Pray he stay's healthy and truly wish him much success on the next level.
I am glad that my team drafted him. I worry about his weight though. He said he wants to play at 330. I think he needs to get down to 320. What these things come down to is the inner fortitude of the player. He has a lot to learn. He used his size in college&in the pros hes not going to get my OL without various moves&techniques. I love having Davis in the middle with a bunch of guys that can get to the qb. Again, it takes a special breed to be an NFL great. Players need to thrive on getting better&putting in the hard work to do well.
This dude will go no#1 or 2 in the draft. I'm a WTF fan, and I would pass up on a Qb to get this guy. There's no way I would pass up on this guy absolutely no way!!!
@Philosophical Khajiit yep!!!... still there's no way I speaking for myself would pass up on a generational talent... If you look at his tape, you say the same thing.
Crazy thing is we have a senior at my HS that’s 6 foot 8 inches and 365 pounds dude is a beast and barely has any offers. Jacob Lecates this man gonna be something big!
Reminds me of Dontari Poe. If that 40 isn’t under 4.5 , i can’t believe he run 20mph. I can see Baltimore being a good fit for him as far as size and position. Looking at what they did with Brandon Williams, Michael Pierce and Patric Ricard. Big dudes with athleticism.
It will be 4.5-4.7 probably his acceleration matters a lot in the 40 and though he does accelerate fast accounting for his size and position, he won’t accelerate fast compared to wide receivers and running backs, Derrick Henry runs too speed 22 mph in pads, he could definitely run 18-19 I think 20 is a stretch tho
This is an incredible unblockable monster. My 49ers better manipulate the draft to get this guy. I seen that play when he held two lineman up at the same time at the line of scrimmage crazy 🤪
I swear to God Jordan Davis better be the Atlanta Falcons first round draft pick at #8 overall! -Everything starts in the trenches, having a great offense/defense lines. Defense is what wins championships #RiseUp #Falcons
I read where the head coach said they put Davis at 350lbs in a tug of war against two 275lb linebackers. The coach said he thought due to the fact of the other two players having 4 feet to use for traction that Davis would lose. Davis drug them around like puppies on a leash. Its amazing to see a man that big move so fast and with so much power from a standing start
I seen him against bama he didn’t too much but I will say he’s the pro type d tackle as far as body type goes. If he keeps developing he will be a absolute monster in nfl
@Jmo_421 i agree with you. When i watched the game, they kept showing him going to the sidelines after 2nd down. He isn't in shape to play consistently 3 downs over and over again. NFL will expose him further.
Alabama showed how to make him ineffective, run an uptempo offense and keep him on the field. Smart NFL teams are going to employ the same tactic to neutralize him. He was gassed and Alabama took him out of the equation as far as having an impact.
@@Frodoswaggns ….I’m not knocking him as a player, the NFL is full of good players, but the good coaching staffs, know how to game plan against the best players.
@John Smith Fair point. But talking about NFL there are also better rosters and better players on every position, so trying to avoid or plan around a player there's a chance to mess up with another one. Imagine if the Chargers would pick him. Would you plan around Bosa or Davis?
Listen....God...its me jaycie again....please protect our run game against this monster because our O-line aint gonna do a damn thing against him sincerely -A bama fan🙌🏻
I’m over here like how’d he get in the backfield like that! He looks viciously strong, and uses his hands exceptionally well. And the way he chases down runners. The guys is a beast
He would fit amazing in that defensive scheme, I hope he drops that far. I’m not even a Chargers fan just getting him would do wonders for that defense
The Chargers need a strong NT to plug up their god awful run defense and to absorb some double teams to free up Bosa on the outside. It won't be likely that someone this talented will be available late in the draft, though.
Thank you Howie!!!! Some fans might not understand how great of a pick/fit this is and that's okay. People are gonna assume he's just a straight up NT and that's just not true. He'll be able to play 0 tech, 1 tech, 3 tech. and even 5 tech sometimes if they want him to. Davis will allow Hargrave and more importantly Cox (who has been slowing down... played too many snaps last year for his age) this year to play less snaps on early downs to keep them fresher to rush the passer. Davis is obviously still a work in progress as a pass rusher, because he wasn't tasked to do it a lot not cause he's incapable. He was playing at Georgia in the 350s to 360s, because Georgia didn't need him to be a pass rusher. They needed him to be a mountain of a man. They have another DT in Jalen Carter (who is projected to be a top 5 pick next year) and Devonte at a much smaller weight was a natural 3 tech. Davis knew to be the player he wants to be and to get selected highly he needed to cut weight to test great and he tested out of this world at 341 (significantly less than he was playing at Georgia) and I think he could cut even more than that with the Eagles and be in that 325-335 range and maybe be even more explosive than his absurd combine. Not only will being at a lower weight help with explosiveness which he still somehow had in the 350s to 360s, but it will help with his conditioning which wasn't the best at that higher weight. I think Cox and Hargrave are great mentors for him to help him progress as a pass rusher. Looking forward to the future Cox and Hargrave aren't under contract past this year and Davis isn't the type of player that comes along often. He wasn't some highly touted recruit coming out of HS. He was a 3 star when he came to Georgia, but he got better and better over his career there and the people inside the building rave about the kind of person and worker he is. All of that is why Jordan was one of my dream picks for the Eagles. So many Cowboys fans desperately wanted him to drop and I kept telling them I know my general manager and if Davis was on the board at 15 that he wouldn't be once the Eagles made their selection. I get trading up ahead of Baltimore to make sure you secure him and we didn't have to give up any day 2 picks to do it. Just gave up our mid 4th rounder and two of our three 5th round picks which are in the middle of that round too. We kept our highest 5th round pick.
The next evolution of a huge football player with tremendous speed starts here, we will start to see more and more now, im talking 6ft 5 340 lbs , football players or human beings are still evolving thats scary cause these athletes today are absolutely amazing, to think that they will get better is crazy
@@tchoopee5143 Leonard is a pass rusher.. out Davis in the middle with Leonard on one side and Dexter Lawrence on the other. I want him or Kyle Hamilton in the draft..
Just his size, strength and athleticism alone would be enough to make him a nightmare. But his technique, how well he uses his hands and arm length to leverage blockers and keep blockers off of him, and how he can control an opponent, and sheds blocks with such ease is awesome to watch. He honestly looks like a grown man playing against little kids. I hope Dallas picks him up in the draft.
@@frankiehudson2546 It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s off the board in the first 5 picks. You’re probably right. Dallas will be way too far down the board to get him
@@olveraivan65 you’re the definition of someone who doesn’t watch Football. Matt Ryan is far from the problem and a big reason we aren’t 0-6 like we should be.
those highlights of him slaughtering my piggies hurts the only game this year that we were not competitive in at all you guys stomped our ass. Razorback fan but rooting for you guys to win a natty. Think Alabama will put up a good fight in the SEC championship but after that maybe Michigan can compete for a half against you but looks like its Georgias year.
