Just to clarify something Jordan was wrong about the rising on the third day being rising to heaven. The rising on the third day is resurrection from death, the ascension into heaven came later
Yeah he preached in hell and did all kinds of crazy stuff. Speaking of did you fellas hear about that second passion of the Christ thats going to come out soon? Mel said it was gonna be like an acid trip
Christian Underdogs Fan here, not sure where Holly got the notion that Jesus was never physically Resurrected, but just wanted to clarify that in the Bible, Jesus rising on the third day (easter Sunday) is indeed a resurrection from death where he reunites with his disciples on Earth, which is depicted in 3 books of the Bible, , and it is not until the book of Acts (which takes place after the events of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection) that Jesus ascends to Heaven.
Totally agree with Jordan saying Christians need to be more Christian. I'm a Christian myself. Also super proud of Jordan for putting in some research into the day.
Yeah, not a Christian myself, im muslim. But I hear allot of people say that they are religous but they do allot of things that are forbidden? I personally think that people confuse BEING RELIGIOUS with going to the church or mosque every week with their fam or friends, it’s not the same!
I just wanna say Jordan is so right! I’m Catholic Christian and he’s so right about how Easter is about lent(basically giving up something you love for those 40 days and not eating meat every Friday during that time. He’s right that no one really does the actual traditions anymore! IDK but bruh was right about that and that resonated with me😂😂
The least entertaining part of the podcast is when they cit someone off to deliberately misinterpret what they're saying because they can't come up with anything actually funny to riff on about it.
Hey guys! I've seen a few comments talking about the resurrection of Jesus, and how he actually was reunited with his disciples on Earth before ascending into heaven, and just wanted to add a few things as well. 1. Jesus ate food with his disciples to prove that his body was resurected, and that he wasnt just a ghost (Luke 24:42-43) 2. There is a passage in 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 that affirms that Jesus rose and appeared to his disciples. It is thought that this passage is a creed that dates back to only a few years after Jesus death, showing the belief in the resurrection was around since the very beginning, and not a later development or myth that people came up with over time. 3. Also in 1 Corinthians 15:14-20, one of the earliest Christians writers, Paul, stated that if Christ is not risen, our faith is in vain. Basically the entirety of Christianity relies on Jesus being resurected in the flesh, and if that didnt happen, there's no point. I hope this wasn't too long or preachy. I wrote this not to try and prove you wrong or start a religious debate, I just think this stuff is really interesting, and as a Christian I think it is important to be able to defend the things we believe. Honestly I really like it when you guys talk religion just because I think this stuff is important and we should feel comfortable talking about it. So keep up the good work! Much love!
@@RawrStudiosI mean America is from the English too, and it's nowhere near as similar. But I think rebelling against the British empire and breaking away probably explains that.
Definitely an Aussie thing. Most of why we use celebrations like Easter is for the food. Another one is just using Australia Day as an excuse to string your friends down to the beach for a barbecue and some cricket, the fireworks and celebration itself is just a nice extra.
Just to clarify as a Catholic listener of the pod. They talked about how people are supposed to not eat meat on Good Friday. This is kind of true but also kind of false. As a Catholic we are not supposed to eat meat on any Friday as Jesus gave up his flesh for us on Good Friday. That is why on Fridays in general we are supposed to refrain in honor of Him.
jordan finally exploring that he's stubborn lol staying in the car to play chess because you don't want to eat the thing youre getting for dinner, making her do everything. yeah that's called being stubborn lol all good tho. funny pod today ty for still doing these.
Oh god Jordan hahahaha, jesus did come back to life, he rose to heaven a month later on ascension day. I think you are misinformed. Not that I'm religious, but thats how the story goes. Ascension day is on the 9th of May this year.
@@sarimsalman2698 idk if im remembering right, but i think they were living with one of their grandparents. Anyhow their personal life aint our business
I understand both sides of the fish and chips story. Jordan knows the situation is going to be crazy and it’s going to take forever to get food so he thinks why bother and he was right in the end cause they just got a refund. But on the other side he should have been more supportive and even though they aren’t Christian if that’s something she wants to do he should have helped her do it. At least just for the reason of being a supportive partner. I’ve definitely done both sides myself in my relationship. There is no winning but I usually just do what the wife wants 🤣
I found this video very good and i do not enjoy the fact that the comments are very negative. Luckily peter was the only one who read the comments so now there is no one to get their feelings hurt (:
Good Friday is when Jesus died I never heard of the fish and chips tradition, I assume it has something to do with "Jesus feeding the 5 thousand" Funny enough we have wine/grape juice (in some churches) and bread to represent the body and blood of Jesus based on what he said during the last supper, before he got crucified I don't where you heard that he legit asended to heaven on Sunday but thats false Apparently Easter has traditions still remaining from the original pagan holiday then somehow it was added to resurrection sunday. Kind of how Santa is a Christmas icon.
Another Christian Underdogs fan here! It’s true, unfortunately tradition has become more important than faith. The fish on Fridays thing drives me crazy. Read the gospel of Matthew, you’ll definitely get a lot more insight into what Christianity is than what the culture makes it out to be. Love your videos! Also where is Hopcat hiding, pretty sure he was just in a video yesterday 😂
One thing i will say is Christianity is not supposed to be anything else than what Jesus taught or what the bible says. The fact that nowadays so many other religions are mixed in is not good and it should make you think about what you are follwing and keeping. The term easter itself has nothing to do with Jeus resurection. Its literally pagan religion. Yes we should keep resurrection day but nothing with no bunny or anything like that. When you look online and see that something claiming to be "Christian" isnt found in the bible or in fact came later, should only make it skeptical. Its quite sad that jordan simply thinks thats the way it is. (Btw I am Christian, i just breifly made my point and didnt go into detail too much, in the end the mixing religions and custom isnt honoring what Jesus said or commanded.)
Thank you boys for bullying the hell out of Jordan for his idiocy 👌 he's always SO self assured on his opinions, I appreciate you ribbing him for being so close minded all the time
During the fish and chips story, jacksons commentary and holier than thou attitude is far more obnoxious and insufferable than anything either of them did in the story.
