The unsung hero here is the editor. The rhythm of the set never feels like it's interrupted even when there's a cut. It feels like one take from a longer set instead of an amalgam of several sets. gg Jordan and editor!
Funny you mention that, There's a cut-down version of a lot of the material from that special, it's like a ten-minute segment she does on Don't Tell Comedy, search for "therapist breakup jordan jensen" - she's just way more comfortable and relaxed than the 30-minute special, it's really quite good
I think this is what happens when you're manic and wicked smart and just thoroughly messed up. She can just blurt funny crap like a funny-spigot, non stop, and I'm not entirely sure you can turn it off. Which is f-ing great. I'm so digging her stuff!
"Don't clap, man-with-long-hair-and-beard-who-thinks-you're-a-Viking-but-probably-works-at-an-app-or-something. I despise you." I have NEVER heard someone get dragged SO hard SO fast. Jesus.
yes funny af. but also, i'm not sure how many things are "more tangible" than networks... like we have to plug everything in one or two holes: one for power, one for the f internets. one hole is developed and managed by electricians, the other hole by that "man-with-long-hair-and-beard-who-thinks-you're-a-Viking-but-probably-works-at-an-app-or-something" :}:}
@@Googlencraptubesuckabandonship maybe, but maybe more like funny-venting hence the multiple apologies/explanations... w/o trying to be rude, i think that missed the 'genius target' and that's perfectly alright :)
Jordan is one of my favorites. Best standup intro/joke I’ve ever seen. Death Chunk is a great name for this mini special too. Every special doesn’t need to be an hour. Great job, Jordan. I can fix you.
It hurts me how much Jordan hurts in this. And I've also never laughed harder in the last year than I have watching this. Truly, genuinely, stupidly impressive. THIS is really something else. You are a God, Jordan.
Oof, I wouldn't want to go through whatever trauma made you this funny. Thank you for this relatable chunk. My father is in some freezer right now, waiting a few months for his turn in the oven. I won't use your method of disposal as inspiration, since that's illegal here, but otherwise I feel better prepared now. Of course I take all of this literally, as I am utterly riddled with autism 😏 Please live and publish more content for my amusement! Kind regards from Iceland
@@jescollo No storage fees, thankfully. There's only one worn out furnace here and cremations have recently become very popular. It's just a matter of time before the increased demand is met. We put my dad's ashes in the ground early in July, which was actually rather convenient for a bunch of family to gather during the summer holidays. We had a nice warm, sunny moment together at the cemetery. It's located in a sparsely inhabited valley with a view of some fine mountains but also of the sea. There’s an archeological site close by. That's all significant, since he was a boat builder with an interest in nature and history, especially the viking times. From there you can see the area which was most likely Iceland's first international harbor, when vikings and our ancestors first colonized (if that's the right word) Iceland. It's also close to home so we were quite fortunate all in all, I think. Thanks for asking, though. How are you? Kind regards from Iceland.
My best friend took his own life last week. This was more therapeutic than you know. I know to most people comedy is just a cheap form of fun, but for me, comedy is so much more. It has helped me smile through the darkest times of my life when nothing else could make me smile. Keep it up if your reading this Jordan, we sincerely appreciate what you do.
Unexpected greatness. I've only watched her on podcasts which led me to watch her standup. I did not realize how great she is. hands down one of the better comedy specials currently
Incredible set! I was lucky enough to get to watch your sister watch this bit about your father in Syracuse, NY recently. I hope you come back around soon, you're the best!
Awesome...brutal honesty. Reminded me of Doug Stanhope talking about his dad dying...but an original REAL take. Also...the 200 buttons...genius. you put something I couldn't express into words and made me laugh. Thank you.
Funny you mention Stanhope. Carlin's You Are All Diseased when I was 12 and Stanhope's No Refunds when I was 20 hit me in a profound way that no other stand up comedy has until I just stumbled across this. Such a treat to discover someone truly unique among billions of people.
Absolutely loved it. I needed this. I couldn't listen to the Being Ian With Jordan Eps without her on. She totally makes that show for me. The combo of her and Ian together rules!
@@Daddy.loves.you. The man was 58. I'm turning 58 soon. 58 isn't anywhere near ancient, sure, but it ain't exactly young, either. None of us get to live forever. Far too few of us get to die peacefully. I like to think nobody holds his passing against him.
The synergy between the editing of this and who you are as a comedian is so satisfying, it fits so perfectly. You are and have been my favorite comedian of all time, and I cannot wait to see you live.
I'm crying laughing at this. I wish there was more!!!!!! Jordan is a legend. ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for keeping us laughing, esp the ones in the depression hole with you!!
