April 17th, day 4 of 17: In the morning we start in Amman and drive to Madaba, the city of mosaics. In the busy city we visit two churches: the famous one with the mosaics and the St. John's Church with the bell tower, 10 minutes away. Of course we climb up.
Visit of a “mosaic factory” where you can buy beautiful souvenirs.
Mount Nebo is our next stop - also very busy, but beautiful.
We are really looking forward to our next destination - the Wadi Mujib Canyon, which we love to explore.
Unfortunately it was closed last week due to heavy rain (there still wasn't really much water....!?)
A bit disappointed. But so we have plenty of time to relax here on the Dead Sea beach. Since there are almost no people in the Wadi Mujib chalets we stay in, it was incredibly quiet.
We felt like we were on an alien planet - all alone.
Perhaps this was the highlight of our trip to Jordan - completely unexpected.
