Oh awesome, you were at that show. I can't wait to see or hear some of that stuff that happened that night. Mike has mentioned that he will eventually release something from that show.
Thanks for the video !!! I am really happy to own a Fantom G8 because Jordan uses and designed it. It is without any doubt the best workstation nowadays
which turned it into the best concert i've ever seen, it was a nightmare for him though, me and some buddies talked to him after the show, he said it was ridiculously stressful.
He is endorsing many brands... At NAMM where this is from he played Roland Fantom G8 on Roland Booth, Korg Oasys on Korg Booth and played also on Spectrasonics Booth marketing the Omnisphere... He is so popular and talented musician who doesn't want to use just one brand equipment so he is marketing them all :D
OMG! I saw him while walking outside the convention center, but I thought, that can't be Jordan Rudess. He doesn't have a beard. Now I see that it was him and I feel like an idiot.
the screen is a Freeland music Systems Pad Pro which basically can be used as a (1) sheet music viewer and (2) as a note viewer. my guess is he uses it for both
I know that sort of screen is usually used to display sheet music, but he's probably just using it to show him what programs/registrations to use for which song and when.
All the sounds in this video are coming from the G8... If you watch carefully you can see there's no midicable attached to the board... but there's a usb-stick so he might use his own samples or maybe he is just downloading his own programs and stuff with it...
Hey - great video quality! Looks really good! To bad for the audio... but I guess you didn't had the access to it. Jordan is great also, in case you haven't noticed :)
thats why i like korg. instruments like the M3 or the OASYS can do just about anything. the stock sounds are great, and you can use it as a midi controller for pretty much any sound you want. and its really user friendly. i just bought my M3 a month ago. i'm totally new to keyboards, and i've pretty much got it mastered
I thought Jordan Rudess was endorsing Kurzweil only, I remember watching an instructional video once by him, where he seemed very happy with all his Kurzweil synths, plus there where large "Kurzweil" banners in the back as well... That being said, I for one will always love the stuff Roland does, although some of their products seem to get recycled in their new hardware, i.e. the expansion boards with JV sounds selling once again to the public for the SRX slots...?
they're not motored-sliders so they won't move by themselves when you change a patch. And of course when you change to a new patch the sliders aren't affecting anything until you move them.
I can't believe you would claim something like that. Whatever you say, I have heard the psr and I'll tell you the sole truth, that these sounds could have easily been beaten but a stupid computer plug-in. Yamaha has very nice styles however, but the sounds lack because in the truth of knowledge, they really are not that great. Personally, I don't like workstations anyway, if I was going to use a keyboard it would be a synth and no other.
