A wonderful video. Very informative too. I had a couple of questions. In Wadi Rum, did you organize your jeep tours and camel ride through Sun City camp? How long was the jeep tour and the camel ride? Did you tour both the white and the red desert or just one? How did you get around Jordan - rented car or did you hire a car and driver or did you just use Public transport? Thanks you.
@absentabroad
@absentabroad 2 года назад
Thank you so much! Here are my answers to your questions: - I organized the jeep tour through the local agency and camel ride through Sun City Camp (but I asked the tour guide and he said price and itinerary-wise, it’s more or less the same) - The jeep tour was about 2.5-3 hours - but this also depends on where you decide to go and how much climbing you decide to do. - We toured both I think, the jeep tour was quite flexible though, so if you have particular places you are interested in, you could ask them whether it’s on the way so you could make a stop there :) - The local tour agency hired a car and driver for us!
@cyberfan1

@@absentabroad Thank you for that valuable information. Can you share the name of the local tour agency that you used to book the jeep safari etc.
@absentabroad
@absentabroad 2 года назад
@@cyberfan1 unfortunately, I don’t actually know the name of the local tour agency since everything was planned through the travel agency I contacted back in Thailand, but I think contacting Sun City Camp would be easiest since the jeep tours all seem quite similar - I highly recommend the sunset jeep tour, and if possible go for a private tour and they might take you to less crowded spots :)

Hi! I’m from Thailand so I didn’t need anything going in except my vaccine passport and PCR test 2 days before flying (not sure if the regulations are still the same). I’ve never been to Israel so I’m not quite sure which part you’ll be at and how easy it is to enter from there. I hired a private van as well! exciting!! @absentabroad
@absentabroad 2 года назад
I visited mid-march and it was actually quite cold (went down to about 0-1 degrees celsius and snowed), so I’m assuming December will be colder. Definitely pack a windproof jacket (I forgot mine) for the desert and lightweight clothes that are suitable for trekking. Not sure how old your kids are but hiking shoes with a good grip would be good too if you are planning to climb all the way up to the monastery! :) In Wadi Rum and Petra, do bring along a water bottle and some snacks. Although there are cafes/restaurants on the way and locals offering tea, it’s quite a trek. I brought my snacks from Thailand (rice crackers, sweets, cookies and energy bars) so that I could bring them along with me to the different hikes/jeep tours! :)
