seems like a good hearted dude. Went through a lot in his life as have many people. He has demons like many but was fortunate to get past them. The word role model gets thrown around a lot but to me Jordan Tootoo is a real one. A hero in his community and a positive role model. Shows that you can get better when you decide you want it. Put his life out there for everyone to hear about and talk about. Tough to do when you are struggling to get better but like when he was a player not scared of the challenge. A good man and continued success in your journey. Was a fan when he played and am a fan of his message. Peace and love man.
I remember watchiing him on the worold juniors vs finland ( the tootoo train chant) crowd loved him and he and ruutuu were battling the commentator " tootoo hit on ruutuu in period # 2..score 2-2-'' lmao
Saw you many times and always made sure to watch your games. Although a San Jose Shark fan, I knew you were one to be aware of; I enjoyed the short documentary and admire you for you openness, you will not only be known as a hell of a fighter only, but taking time to watch this shows the kind of person people will remember you by. Contrats on all your accomplishments, you're a very stand up guy.
My heart not only hurts for you but my heart opens to you. You are such an inspiration not only for your community, it’s touched many across the world. My greatest wish is to meet you.
Why does Jordin Tootoo continually return to his home in Rankin Inlet? How does he cope with the contrast between his life in urban centres during hockey season and the way of life at home?
B M the culture that is so beautiful and gives them a huge connection to the earth also keeps them secluded and cut off from society. Sad to see the amount of substance abuse and depression amongst the youth. You almost wonder if it’s worth hanging on to
An Evolving Ape you obviously haven’t seen or been part of the communities that battle the these issues everyday. It’s not racist it’s wanting better for First Nations people.
@@ryana3679 Their culture is the way of life they have been living for a very long time. Drugs and alcohol weren’t apart of it until it was introduced to them and the abuse affects all races, and groups of people in a negative way. The abuse is what creates the depression and that disconnects them from their way of life. It’s a tough life as it is living that far North but they have been doing it for a very very long time. It’s unfortunate substance abuse has a firm hold on today’s society as a whole not just people who live up North.
