While these martial arts and sports should retain their honorable characteristics when entering MMA, you can't run your mouth and expect someone to think twice about finishing the fight. Askren seemed out against Lawler at points, but he wasn't. Cannot blame for Jorge not taking that chance against Ben, the ref stops the fight, not the fighter. There's been way worse post-KO ground and pound from other fighters.

Riv era yet.....Robbie was about to have his head pop like a ripe zit. I am 52, been watching a long time, Robbie since WEC, and I love Robbie, but he was in a bulldog choke by one of the best wrestlers in the world, I think it was called too early, but the outcome was the same. I hated Ben when he fought because I wanted action, but I cannot deny his effectiveness. Combat is combat, regardless of what I think is “exciting”. Whatever shines is not always gold.
