Carreras had the best phrasing of any tenor that I’ve ever heard. He really marries the text and the music, plus the voice was truly glorious at this stage of his career. Bravo!
So beautiful! Carreras sends me every time. He looks the part, acts well, commands the stage, and sounds fantastic. Many tenors cannot be anything but themselves in productions, but Carreras inhabits his roles, serves the drama as well as the music, and allows us to marvel at the "Gesamtkunstwerk," the whole work of art that opera can be.
Carreras had the nost glorious voice at this stage in his career, such a warm tone, good technique, pity he ruinedh is voice singing roles not suited to his voice..THis rendition of the Flower Song superb, vocally and emotionally top class.
No todos lo utilizan, Corelli, Gedda por ejemplo y el mismo Carreras más joven no lo utilizaba. Carreras cuando comenzó con sus problemas vocales lo utilizaba no sólo en este aria.
@@musicus9Absolutely wrong, undeniably wrong, any good tenor or technician can hear that is the most glorious, supported piano. Listen again and again and again until you hear it. The quality of a falsetto has no connection. That applause is from the WHOLE house- everyone there heard it and this is one of the best executions out there. Please don’t slander this timeless performance. Every tenor should learn from this and KNOW this is true beauty.
