It sounds like one of the Coronel brothers. they usually crave for this kind of drama. Also, they aren't really journalists but enthusiasts.. their whole lives are and were around racing.. its just that viaplay asked them to do this.

@@josue679 Its not the case, but even if it is the case that Verstappen is having benefits, why would they benefit Verstappen and not the Opposite. Why not benefitting Perez over Verstappen? Perez is just not fast enough and drives with too much understeer. Oversteered cars are faster
@fixxa6455 top teams for some reason or another decide to build around one driver, that is nothing new. What is cringy is how they elevate max as a superior driver when he is just as good as any top driver. It would be great if there was some more competition to make things exciting is what the majority of fans want.

Perez, with all the struggles he had, he still finished 2nd in the standings, there's no reason at all to drop him. That's the answer Jos should've made, but everybody knows he's an @ss that only cares about his son.
I'd imagine 2/3rds the grid would've managed P2 just nicely in that RB.. I'm a huge Verstappen fan and I like Perez a lot (especially his earlier years, prior to being teammates with Ocon).. Him placing 2nd in a car as dominant as the RBR is, isn't quite a huge feat. And the fact Verstappen is MILES ahead in the standings is an obvious testament to Verstappen's speed and consistency.. But also shows that there's quite a bit of points left on the table for what Perez has achieved so far. I'd agree that Verstappens next teammate needs to be a clear 2nd driver, but it's obvious there's much quicker candidates that could replace him and would fall 50-80 points short of Verstappen at the end of seasons, rather than being down 175+.
Everybody saw Perez dropping performance last yr. RB has all the reason putting him in a place where he is right now. They have given him praise for his ‘21 heroics, and the world has moved on now. And with sainz lurking around, the pressure is on checo.
Plenty of reason to drop him. Barely scraped 2nd despite being in a rocket ship of a car far greater than any other team’s machinery. Consistent qualifying blunders and incidents in the race, he’s only in the seat still because Max is so superior that he carries them to the constructors’ by himself. He’s had 2 years to turn his poor form around and he’s gotten consistently worse. Said it as soon as it was announced he’s going to RB, he’s not cut out for a top team.
Oh stop it already. This is about his performance here and now. Besides Jos literally saying: I don't know, luckily I don't have to make that decision.
Maybe that's why he's glad to not have to take the decision. On one hand, Sergio is a good guy and helped some in 2021, but on the other hand he's not competitive in that redbull this years. While Max is so dominating, it's fine, but if another team get closer RB will need a reliable 2nd driver.

He only had 2 dnfs to lmaxs 3 if we are going to talk about what ifs if max would have been a bit more patient at monza for ex he could have won or at least podium in that race which would have given them a better shot plus merc was just a better team that year. Not for long as Max would still carry Red Bull to the end to still win it, and that end isn't far away. Let's calculate the numbers at the end of the season and see if Perez was even useful in that department.
The interviewer’s question is valid because Perez is not performing as well as he should in the fastest car. Russell made him look silly after he went from 18th (after his teammate crashed him) to finish 4th in Qatar, while Perez only went from 14th to 10th. Perez hasn’t been meeting expectations in qualifying either.
Which is exactly what Helmut Marko said. The reason why red bull is THAT far ahead is because of the mix up of the midfield. First it Aston, then Ferrari took points from them, then came Mercedes taking point only for McLaren to take the points now.

Checo has been a great team player this past season and finished second in the championship. Hes also had some bad luck throughout the season which would have put him a lot closer to max . He's eqrnt his place give him another season. Knowing red bull tho he will be gone

Horner his comment on TV about having some serious talks with Checo already indicates this, and as before Horner supports his driver in his current role up to the last hour when the announcement is made that they are taken out of their seat. It was the same with the other drivers... Kvyat, Gasly, Albon.
