Jose Chameleon, Has worked so hard for so long. His music is cross-cultures, inter-regional, intercontinental & international for sure. My mom is a Masai From Tanzania, when l was young, in the evening hours, drinking milk around fire, we had our redio, we bought Chameleon KANDA, (I don't know what they call in english) then we used to listen. Radio stations like Radio One, Clous FM, Radio Free Africa in Mwanza & Kiss FM used to play Chameleon very much especially on Saturday & Sunday. I remember back in the early 2000's on one of ma dad's trips to Zanzibar, he bought a huge radio with a tape caset. While in town we bought Jose's Album on a tape that had this song too. Young as I was (about 6 or 7yrs old) I could replay this song like 50times a day! Can’t imagine what music would be like if chameleon didn’t realise his call for us Africans in terms people listening to music without understanding the meaning, Uganda holds the number one spot I know because am not Ugandan, but 70% if music I listen to is chameleon and some other Ugandan music. If only they have translated lyrics some of us can learn, I would be speaking the language just from their music.
