Jose Feliciano plays one of his best interpretation of Malagueña by Ernesto Lecuona. A personal and precious dedication to friend guitarist Francesco Grant from the great artist. Live in Stamford (Connecticut) 1997
I had the pleasure of seeing Jose Feliciano live in concert at Newcastle city hall [Northumberlland UK],in the late 60's,he was amazing !I was in my late 20's. For my 60th Birthday,my Son paid for my train ticket to London,to stay with him,and also tickets to see the Master once again,at Ronnie Scott's Jazz club. That was forty-odd years later, and when Jose came on stage..he didn't look a day older!...His playing, and singing, were impeccable!...Truly a master of his art!! I am now heading for 76 years old,and love his performances as much as I did all those years ago...!
I’ve been a fan of this kindhearted, super-talented dude since I was 3 in 1967. If he came on TV, which he did often, my parents would call me and my five siblings in from outside or from our rooms and we’d all come running, full speed, to marvel at his musicianship. Great memories!
He has many albums that are out of the mainstream that are pure classical music and have nothing to do with the mainstream at all and they are absolute genius he is virtually the most complete musician ever and I have been a fan since his first recording
As a guitarist of now half my lifetime, most of this absolutely amazed me , being finger style. But this level of trilling on an acoustic is absolutely jaw dropping. I know the microphone obviously amplifies the sound but my god, I can play acoustic pretty spicy but this mans trilling makes me looks like a kindergartener learning his abc’s
Did you know Mr. Feliciano was a classically trained guitarist? That is probably why his expertise on the acoustic guitar is so astounding. I have seen & heard many classically trained guitarists & there is just 'something' that sets them apart from all other guitarists. I could listen to them all day; their music is enthralling.
@@miriambelanger7292 sorry you took it that way, I from day one of ever seeing Jose feliciano perform was so amazed, I'm so glad he has such musical talent, God gave him a talent to support himself inspire of blindness. Ray Charles also a great example.
@@miriambelanger7292 he appeared on the glen Campbell show years ago, Everytime he performs he gets recognized as being an all time great in the music world
This is what talent is about. Blind or not. Being blind just made jose more amazing. Watch the way he made the guitar sound. He made it appear that there are more than one guitar playing. Truly amazing. From the philippines where you have millions of fans since the 70s with your ballafs and love songs kudos jose and God bless
Some tunes are so full of pride and stature they bring tears to my soul. I find these feelings mostly in Latin Music......it may be my Puerto Rican roots but these Spanish greats never fail grab my soul.
Jose has always had a style of his own... I was lucky to see him on his first visit to the UK, many years ago, and since then whenever he was on tour... My favourite venue of many had to be the Jazz Cafe because it gave fans the ability to get up close and watch his fingers work his kind of magic...
Since i was an Australian youth of 15 in '68, i have had the most reasuring faith in creative release whonce i found the expressions of Jose Feliciano. I knew then, and am now being re inspired by Jose's continued sensitivity, creative, humanistic, pauses, instinctual emotional integrity
Jose Feliciano is a legendary musician and he showed his skills in this video clip of his performance. As a musician, I appreciate the techniques he's applied to his guitar-playing. I know that people remember him for "Feliz Navidad" and his version of "Light My Fire," yet there's so much more to Jose's overall musicianship. Thanks for this upload that proves just that!
The "everyone" you refer to are only english-speaking North Americans but José has sold millions of records and performed all over the spanish-speaking Americas throughout the 50 years he has been a performing artist. He has a huge repertoire of spanish-language hits.
I have a compilation of Jose’s Beatles covers. I don’t like when people cover The Beatles because what’s the point, really? Jose is the one exception I make because he’s such a singular artist that he makes any song he does a Jose Feliciano song. What an incredible talent!
Most people don't know that José Feliciano was classically trained on the guitar (just like Charo). Malagueña shows off his mastery of the genre & guitar. This is my all-time favorite classical guitar piece, & Mr. Feliciano is brilliant. One of my bucket list entries I have yet to fulfill is seeing him in concert.
simply perfect... nearly all single note lead playing... so great... so many just strum most and play a few lead lines... he does the most breathtaking lead lines... virtuoso... loved this guy all my life...
I grew up a few streets away from Jose's' house in Vila Park. We would sit down the hill from the back of his property and try to listen when he had people over. One of my gowing childhood memories. I've been playing for 50 years now -LOL! But never like the Master Jose! Peace
Angels are beside him playing this famous piece , he will definitely be in heaven with all the angels, when you hear this before your last breath be sure you've made it through the holy gates..
"Malagueña" y José se enamoraron para siempre. Y la guitarra es su fiel testigo. Amar así, abrazando lo amado, como si fuera el último día de su vida...! ❤
Had a musician friend recommend me this tonight. Instantly put a huge smile on my face. Absolutely gorgeous, masterful playing. Inspiring to the definition for a guitarist like myself.
Pure, underappreciated genius! I had the privilege of seeing this great man in Ottawa,Canada in 1968. He is a true master. Thank you Jose for your soul.
Fantastic Jose, the most "wide-range guitarist" on planet, from Hendrix to classical, from blues to folk, latin or brazilian all with his stamp and virtuosity
Bravo Bravo Beautiful Song Beautiful Singing Bless you to continue more and more. Huge Thank for So Many Beautiful Songs along the years. Great Love from Israel 10.8.2023
One of the best of all time, and I was fortunate enough to see him in concert in the late 60's ?? You should hear his version of the 1812 overture, solo, on the guitar. It was a mind blower!
Jose feliciano plays malagueña It’s so nice that he plays a instrumental for his friend He says that his friend would always drive his parents crazy because he’s been practicing I think Jose’s just a nice gentleman He’s blind but he’s the man who thinks twice before any other guy
thanks ! Yes, I was there in teather with him and I was surprised for his kind words. He was my virtual teacher since I was a child, living in Italy, so I told him my story and thankful for his precious teaching me just listening his records... After that, during concert he made this dedication for me and played Malaguena, of course I was Happy !
In 1966 (before he was famous), Jose gave a live lunch time performance for the students at UBC (Vancouver). He was fantastic, sitting on a stool on stage, rockin' through La Bamba, High Heel Sneakers, etc., and his stool kept moving, so a member of the audience ran up to the stage and held a leg of the stool. He played Malaguena sublimely, even then. At that time, he played a classical guitar.
The Malagina are the torments of the wounds that have continued since they occurred and will continue to resound in the world of music at the hands of flamenco players through time, and their tears will shed ceaselessly.🌍
Me encanta escuchar y mirar a Jose, fenomenal😘
