In my opinion, that scene where he calls his mother to confront her is one of the realest scenes in the entire series. As a latino, I can attest that abuse, particularly SA within families is commonly swept under the rug or made out to be not as serious as it truly is in our communities. It gave me goosebumps.
It's crazy how I couldnt find anything on the internet about the kitchen scene. I bet so many are confused. I am a recovered extreme alcoholic. The mother fell and had a seizure in the kitchen due to alcoholic Withdrawl. that's why she pounded the bottle of wine. When you are in this state, drinking more alcohol literally keeps you alive. The seizures can and will kill you. I would have to set alarms on my phone to wake up every 3 hours to pound vodka so I wouldn't die. At this point you should be emmited to the hospital for them to medically taper you off alcohol. Alcohol kills more people than any other drug. and its legal.

Did you know that they are going to have another trail, because they found new evidence that they were abused by their parents and theirs a guy from a band called menudo and he said that he was abused by the father too and it’s going to happen this 29 November, and I think that they are going to be released.
the dad was actually truly sexually molested by his mother too, it was written at some book of some relative afaik … but basically on both sides it’s just a mash of sexual abuses and generational trauma. All of them are victims if u rly think abt it ngl
Tbh there’s no evidence or testimony supporting mostly all the scenes in this episode at all like a lot of the rest of the show however I’ll just point out two of many made up things from this one to start with none of Jose’s sisters ever said their dad physically abused Jose and I don’t think it would have happened cause Jose’s mother despite molesting him was very overprotective if that’s the right word to use or more possessive I guess over her son she wouldn’t allow anyone to so much as scold him if he did something bad once for example he burned down a building and his father wanted to discipline him and his mother would not have it so no there really isn’t any suggestion that Jose was abused by his father and secondly there really wasn’t any suggestion that Jose called his mother and confronted her over what she did from what was said it didn’t seem Jose had resentment towards his mother and he was planning to move in with her at some point I think or have her move in with them of course Jose isn’t here so we can’t really say this didn’t happen though I just don’t personally see it happening especially with what kind of person he was described as
