This is how an organ performance should be recorded. Multiple camera angles, tasteful use of zoom, glorious sound. Thanks for sharing this piece and this instrument!
Thank you, sschaub88! I am glad you enjoyed the video. Fortunately I learned how to do it all myself, record and edit - and with some borrowed cameras too. It was surprisingly affordable (of course, it takes a little bit of gradual investing throughout the years, but it is worth it when one loves to do it). I hope you got to watch other recordings on my channel!
Thank you for these RU-vid uploads.. I retired 21/2 years ago as the Rector of Grace church in Newark and have not had such a delight as this since leaving there. An to think such a gift music was so ear at hand. Thank you. I believe we share a friendship with Joseph Arndt
Thanks for listening to my recordings! I was honored to perform at Grace Church two or three times during Joseph's time there. What a good fellow and organist he is. He ended up moving to Oklahoma when I was still living there.
your legato playing in this sonata is perfect. the registration is also spot on! about 30 years ago one of my graduate students learned all 20 of the sonatas and played them in 5 recitals.
Thank you, Bill! I chose the University of Oklahoma because the organ department there, the American Organ Institute, is fantastic. The only program I ever heard of that teaches organ technology, has hands-on experience at an organ shop, and has such excellent professors as Dr. John Schwandt, Dr. Damin Spritzer, and Dr. Adam Pajan - all in the same place. This program grew to be the third largest organ studio in America!
Fine performance, typical for Rozzotto but only the 1st of the 3 movements, Präludium und Fuge. Not recorded here are the remainder, 2. Thema mit Veränderungen (Theme and Variations) and 3. Fantasie und Finale. Unfortunately I find no recording of this entire sonata available for You Tube DOWNLOAD but there are some that are available for listening only, e.g. Rübsam & Barber.
