Before I was in first grade, Mom got me Bible story records. I'm over 60 and I can still quote every word in that album pertaining to Joseph. Of course, when I learned how to read, I memorized everything related to Joseph and his family, including their names and what they did before and after Joseph went to Egypt. One thing that puzzled me was, why, if Joseph saved Egypt from starvation, did they enslave the Israelites? First, Exodus says that the pharaoh why was ruling Egypt didn't know Joseph. Second, when the famine came, the Egyptians had to BUY the food that was stored. When they no longer had anything to pay for food, the Egyptians agreed on a type of income tax to prevent their starvation. When Joseph's family moved to Egypt, they were given the best grazing land in the country so they could not only tend their flocks but the pharaoh's too. (That's probably why he told his family to tell pharaoh that they were herdsman.) Also, Joseph provided for his family during the famine which meant they were not indentured to pay income taxes. You don't have to go far back in our history to see who Americans react when foreign refugees benefit from our taxes. The first time I noticed this resentment was when we gave aid to Vietnam survivors that made it to America. Many people believe the only reason people come to our country is to get government freebies and they will never have to work for the rest of their lives. The truth is employers have been exploiting their labor for decades just like they did in ancient Egypt.
This evening (Tuesday, October 17, 2023) I re-took your "Joseph" quiz. I usually did not even need to consult my Bible, since I know Joseph,s story very well. I easily aced it ! Thanks! Larry Carroll😀💋💯🙏👀👨🎤☘🌎🏕⛪✝♑
Not really… Reuben only did what he should’ve done in that situation. We don’t get a lotta credit from God when we do what is expected of us in the first place … Years later it was Judah who really did what pleases God and that is to set your life aside for another… in this case Judah knew what he did to his Joseph was a sin before God and did not want to make the same mistake twice…. So 30+ years later he was willing to sacrifice his own life for his younger brother Benjamin.
Except for Jesus of course, probably the character in the Bible that I've read and like the most, although I didn't know the last question, his age when he died. A great example of how to always be obedient to the Lord, trust in Him and He will make your path straight even out of the most terrible and seemingly hopeless of situations. Joseph put his faith in God's righteousness, did his best for his master even though he was a slave, resisted temptation, continued to be an exemplary prisoner even though he was innocent and look at how much God blessed him. The example of the love and promises of the Lord for those who love Him. Hallelujah. Excellent quiz, looking forward to the next one I do in a minute. Love and blessings to you all and your families in Jesus name. ❤️🙌🏾🙏🏾
I missed the age of Joseph when he died. I love these quizzes. It helps me continue to learn our history as a civilization and the genuine love of GOD.
My first 100% out of all the quizzes I've taken (30? 40?). Of course being multiple choice, And a single subject, helps a lot. Still--Happy Camper. 😊😊😊 Added--Realized this is my 1st single subject quiz.
