The final of "Die schönsten Opern aller Zeiten" (The most beautiful opera of all times), were the public have voted for their favourite opera, for several months.
3Sat and ZDFtheater broadcasts on Saturday 9 January 2010 and Sunday 10 January 2010.
Joseph Calleja sings the wonderful aria E lucavan le stelle from Puccinis opera Tosca.

Very easy, but that constant vibrato disturbs me, reminds me of what Del Monaco said about Corelli: peccorelli... sorry.

It's a great voice, but I think he's pushing it a bit too hard in this performance. I hope he's given time to develop properly.

fabulous phrasing, pushing a little too hard in the lower/middle registers, needs to cover a little more on the top. I'd definitely pay to see this guy, though. Big, beautiful, muscular sound!
