When I need cheering up I listen to Joseph on this particular night here in Malta!

Really good version, one of the best since Pavarotti's although I must add nowhere near as good as the late Maestro's.

interesting, he doesnt sound modern but rather very old classical staccato singer. i prefer il volo singing this song with the youthful exuberance and innocense along with deep soul in expressing the lyrics meaning

I like a lot Calleja and other Maltese singers from opera (e.g. Lucia di Lammermoor) but I think he should study a little bit of Neapolitan grammar and pronounciation (e.g. che bbella cosa na iurnata e sole... and not "la iurnata" etc.).

Was he way out of the tune at the first chorus ?

Good voice but somewhat disappointed, for a singer of his class, he should work harder on pronouncing the words correctly.

The one time in the year when he sings in Malta for us Maltese! ... usually with some hideous Italian singer with a hoarse voice and weird hairdo. Calleja has intonation issues sometimes and that vibrato is irritating

A great voice, but a rather heartless performance, not worthy of this fantastic tenor. When Jonas Kaufmann sings it, it’s as if the sun is coming out.

Bad, the voice is very common, poor tempi, and totally out of style.
