Why is Joe Sr. demonized for Rosemary? The biographers I read reported Joe agonized over this decision for months. He consented to it only after being assured by the top medical doctors at the time that this was Rosemary's best option.
He was an awful person. How ironic that two of his sons would be murdered, one son would be killed in the war and another son crash his car into a lake and leave his date inside the car to drown as he proceeded to walk off his drunkenness on his way home.
And his grandson would die in a plane crash with his wife and her sister because he was a lousy pilot who shouldn't have gone up. That is still banging around the courts.
I do not think that the events that happened to his sons were somehow connected with his activities. This is similar to the story of any sons from a very wealthy family.

I read several books a while ago regarding Joe Kennedy Srs'. "antics". He was a monster to his wife and in general a real basterd! It's no wonder such horrible things happened to members of his family. After all, the wages of sin is death!

Patricia and Ted were the only 2 of the Kennedy kids to get divorced, with the latter's divorce causing problems with the Roman Catholic Church, that he didn't receive communion for about 10 years, when he got an annulment, so that he could remarry and get back in good standing with the church.
