It's very interesting when people say that this home is tasteless and gaudy. The architectural details in this home are exactly like any classical structure. The craftsmanship is only paralleled in, just like Mr. Leone said, classical European homes. Tell me. Does Queen Elizabeth II lack taste because she lives in extravagant palaces? I really don't see a difference. I think a lot of people with their "let them eat cake" mind sets confuse lack of taste with the fact that they don't like it when someone else has something they don't. It's perfectly okay for wealthy people to live grand lifestyles regardless of what a lot of people think. It really is. The haves vs. the have nots is such an old argument. I'm pretty sure Louis XIV would feel completely at home inside this place. I guess he must have had no taste, right? Maybe pick up a book on classical architecture and flip through it. You don't even have to read. Just flip. One would hope that you would then begin to see how similar this is to something that would have been built in 1750. Be sure to keep the receipt for the book so you can take it back when you're done with it. You wouldn't want something so gaudy sitting on the coffee table in your 1200 sq. ft. ranch. That would be tacky.
