Okay, this is super cool... I haven't really gotten into Paris Monster yet but will probably go for a deeper listen after this. Can anyone help me understand the "reverse grip" Josh uses, is it a tone thing, a control thing, a just because thing or something else?

I like a reversed stick on the snare sometimes. It helps guarantee a big rimshot out of a smaller stick. For me it's a tone thing, like you suggested. t's like those "gong shows" from the 80's. The music is great, but the presentation becomes boring after 3 minutes. Does this guy want to show off his art or his ability to do 3 things at once?

Luciano André I don’t think he wants to “show off” anything- he just wants to play music and is expressing himself in a way that is genuine to him, like anyone who is serious about what they do.
