This is so validating as someone else who has been an isolated nerd for much of their life, lol. I understand the one thing he said so much like when you're having a conversation with someone and you stop talking for a few minutes but you keep thinking about the topic in your head and your train of thought on the matter veers in a different direction and you say the thought you have out loud to the person but they haven't heard any of the in between thoughts so they think you're insane. I'll give an example. Let's say you talk to someone you live with about the kitchen faucet leaking and you both agree you need to get it looked at soon. Then you sit there quietly and think about what it would look like if you could see the inside of a faucet when the water was running. Then you think about the fact that the tap water you drink every day was at one point sitting in a water tower. Then you wonder if they ever clean the inside of those things. Then you convince yourself that they must for your own comfort and wonder what kind of salary that person makes. You then say this out loud but all your friend knows is the last thing you said was "yeah we should get that sink checked out next week" and then sat in silence for ten minutes before going "how much does a water tower janitor make a year anyways?"

He was so good back then, but these days, he's steadily becoming a league of his own. Definitely my favorite stand-up right now.
