I think people may be shocked just how WILD that TX/TAMU game is going to be. It was already going to be wild but after TX stole TAMUs baseball lunch money it just got rocket fuel added.
Man I’m so hyped for CFB, New conference and playoff format, CFB 25 video game, Auburn showing some promise, it’s a good time to be alive can’t wait for the season to start 🙏🏻😄
@@daquandavis3841 currently sitting at 7th in the SEC… and we’ll see how many current and future commits they can hold onto if this season doesn’t go good… especially with the portal these days.
Josh, you have to come to the A&M/Texas game. That's a game where you can throw out the records. It will be a knock down drag out fight. These are 2 schools that have genuine hatred for the other. It's going to be lit.
To Josh's talking points about Ohio State vs Michigan 2 years ago, EVERYTHING was set up for OSU to win that game. To add to Josh's points Blake Corum got a season ending injury literally the week prior and couldn't play, their backup RB in Edwards hadnt hardly played the past few games because he had a broken hand and had to play with a cast on vs OSU lol!
Hey Josh, great thoughts as always. I do think you're sleeping on Utah vs byu. Once again getting revitalized by being in the same conference after a 13 year separation. Its the only major rivalry in college sports that involves church and state as well. Everyone that comes here says how nasty it is compared to the ones you mentioned. Cheers!
There is one thing I think the SEC conference should do. Supposedly they say that Texas A&M is leaving to the Big Ten conference, which is they should’ve done that 12 years ago, but we want to see a new red rivalry Texas Longhorns versus Ohio State buckeyes think about it that would bring in some big big moneyand that will be a great game. God bless you college football fans out there and it’s college football history support Texas Longhorns.
I love watching your videos josh, and I am absolutely biased here. I understand that stats and analytics show that you get more views and interactions on Larger B1G SEC teams, I am begging you to cover some other teams like WVU, WVU Penn State is going to be absolutely rocking week 1.
Amen to that! The fan bases in the Big 12 and ACC generally aren’t as big but they are super passionate. Iowa State, WVU, Utah, BYU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, K-State, NC State, Virginia Tech, and Louisville all have very passionate fan bases
Underrated but also a potential explosion is Oregon-Washington. Since they no longer are in conference with their in state rivals that rivalry might explode. I’m excited for that.
Another point on the A&M Texas all time stats. Yes, they are weighed towards Texas, because back in the day, A&M was a tiny school, but in the past 50 years, the teams are exactly tied. So it should be a pretty competitive game, and it's great to see it happening again.
Utah vs BYU is insane. Pure hate. Church vs State and everything that comes with that. It’s bitter af and at the same time has fans within the same family. The Holy War deserves more appreciation and focus.
Always been interested by this rivalry being someone from the east. What's this like? Both fan bases seem pretty wild. What kind of kids go to BYU? What kind of kids go to Utah?
BYU is filled strictly with LDS members where Utah is filled with a mixture of lds members and kids who have a pure hatred for the lds religion. Byu students act holier than thou and not as if they are just as nasty to Utah as they are to them back where BYU had owned utah in the 80s and 90s but seem to refuse to aknowlege that utah has owned them since the 2000s and has 27 more wins than BYU in total. Mixed with the heavy influence of religion in the state it makes a big melding pot of religious families split between two schools as well as non member who vehemently hate BYU. But both sides are kind as hell to everyother fan base. Except USC 😂
I’ve pointed out many times that nobody was beating Alabama consistently during the Saban years-but that Auburn beat them more often than anyone else. And the bammers just come back with “Y’all suck” or some such nonsense. They’re idiots.
Good for you. You beat Alabama one or two times more than others. So what? No rings are won or banners raised for beating Alabama 1 or 2 more times than the rest of the SEC P.S: If memory serves correct, they didn't come back with saying "You suck." They came back with a 30 yd TD on 4th & G with 20 seconds left or something like that. That's the only thing I remember them coming back with
Maybe not one of the biggest but definitely one of the most hate filled is Nebraska vs Colorado. There is still some serious bad blood between those two.
Big difference between Texas A&M and Texas is that A&M would be repulsed at going after a Mac Brown, but Texas is gloating about stealing an A&M coach. Says something about character, both of Texas and Schloss.
Hey if any texas or A&M fans could answer this I’d appreciate it. What was Josh referring to when he said “baked in disadvantage” in the big 12. How was the big 12 in the past geared to give texas an u fair advantage? I don’t want an argument I am just curious
Historically a&m was a smaller service academy. Texas always had a much bigger student population, lots of championships in major sports, and sports revenue. They had a lot of power financially and politically in SWC and B12 dominating everyone else. It's been fairly recently that A&M became even in sports revenue as one of the biggest in the nation and been able to flex the same kind of muscle Texas has.
Texas would go to the Texas Legislature and get laws passed that benefited them over anyone else in the conference. This included how much money they got from the state, better recruits, anything you can think of. It was the old boys' network. They got anything they wanted from the legislature and had the power in the conference. They threw around that power to get what they wanted from the conference. It was always Texas first and everyone else was left to pick over their scraps.
rivalries were at its peak last season 1. with over 20 of them never scheduled to be played again 2. with the chance to not be drawn out by being played 3 times
It's funny. I'm a Buckeye fan working in Michigan every day. Michigan Sports Radio is complaining that "Ohio State is buying talent," and in their next breath demanding that UM develops their own NIL program. Hilarious.
@@cjpreach I mean, no one is really complaining about OSU buying their championship team they are just acknowledging it as fact and also acknowledge this is the state of the game now and if you want to stay competitive year in and year out you're going to have to adapt now otherwise you'll be at a huge disadvantage. Sucks that this is the game now but what you gonna do??
Josh pate. The difference between. U and the best is… the best calls their shot and it comes to pass. U play the middle ground on everything. Remember that
No mention of the territorial cup? Just the same old boring rivalries that have already been talked about ad nauseum? Arizona and Arizona State will probably have the most interesting rivalry game all season. With Kenny Dillingham revamping the Sun Devil offense and a hard working coach like Brent Brennan finally getting a legit roster with two of the best players in college football it is going to be a must see game.
Everybody reading this has been going thru something. Y’all need the football distraction. Good luck to you and your team and enjoy the ride! Nothing better than football with friends and family! Go Hokies
Texas A&M has been dealing with Texas since before 1900. We know how they work. They are always trying to (and usually do) find a way to get around the system to gain advantages over their opponents. Especially A&M. Everyone says they will only have one seat at the table and be equal to everyone else in the conference but Texas has always found a way to play the system. They will try to play the system in the SEC. That's just who they are. They are coming in as the school that raises more money than anyone else in the conference other than A&M who they go back and forth with. Texas will try to use their money to get their way. A&M tried to warn the SEC about them but all Sankey and the rest of the conference saw were dollar signs.
I don’t like that unsuccessful coaches (and their families) can be tossed aside with nary a peep from talking heads. Yet, their success binds them to their current school, until they invitingly have an off season and get canned. The only coach who can move freely is a fired one??? That an illogical (or logically inconsistent) take. Agree on the UT hire being executed in poor form though.
Funny how Texas says we don’t care about Texas A&M, the real rivalry is OU. Then they take our coach and start screaming “Little Brother”. If coach is that sleazy and a liar, we don’t want him. He does belong at Texas. Fits right in there!
First meeting between TX and TAMU: 1894. Texas wins 38-0. That was the first official noogie big bro TX gave to little bro TAMU. I bet the Aggies all cried and made excuses back then, too!
Texas's biggest challenge is going to be injuries this year. Michigan, Georgia , A&M, all very physical teams. Can they stay healthy. It helps that they have depth and a very good QB in the wings
Props to Josh for saying what everyone outside of Austin has always said, that being the unfair advantage that they had off the fields. Especially in the 90’s when A&M got slapped for infractions everyone was doing, just conveniently as soon as we started gaining national relevance. Undefeated season with no shot at conference or natty titles, no television rights for home games, etc.
Remember. The Arky game was with Herman's players. He didnt recruit the trenches. Sark has built TEXAS for the SEC. They showed it vs Bama. Different type of team.
Obviously you’re young. You don’t understand the rivalry. My guess you’ve never been to Kyle Field, especially at night. Much less to an A&M vs t.u. game. You will quickly understand why Texas A&M defends the 12th Man trademark. That trademark and bottled up anger has been brewing since November 2011. That’s like dem boys of Santa Anna making a trip over to San Jacinto. And if you don’t understand that, you better ask somebody. And if you’re at Kyle Field on November 30th you better bring some ear pro. This ain’t no hippie love fest with tea sippers and Mary Jane smokers and Biden voters. It’s a buncha farmers, ranchers, cowboys, military vets, from all over this Earth and this State with the prettiest Women yelling the entire game and willing the team to BEAT THE HELL OUTTA t.u.! You youngins are about to forget that sissy bowl of grab @$$ y’all play at the State Fair in October with this those f……down in norman(Cross Canadian Ragweed). It’s gonna be epic, hippie boy. SAW VARSITY’S HORNS OFF! SHORT! REAL SHORT!!! BTHO t.u.!!!
Over the last three seasons, Miss State, Ole Miss, Florida, and App State all say hi. If it was so tough, you think they would run the table at Pyle Field at least once.
76-37-5 is not a rivalry. That is domination by the better program. Aggy will never be anything other than "little brother". OU is and always will be the rival.
Texas stealing schloss, and the whole staff, is a very little brother move. Yall wanted to be A&M so bad, you stole the whole program, while they should have been coaching for a championship.
@@JDogg1971 In ALL sports, which is the best part. It's not just football, it's men's and women's, across all sports. It's a clean sweep across the board. It'll take agric winning everything from here until the end of time to overtake UT. Pooooor aggy.
Michigan cheated their asses off. Like the Astros and Patriots, quit acting like it didn't matter. The one team Stallions didn't scout was TCU. And you know how it went.
So much copium. OSU has been changing up signs and plays for The Game since before CoViD. They lost because Knowles played too much cover-0 and got burned over the top. Then later in the game as the d backs off a bit they got burned by a couple big runs. TCU? Two pick sixes iced that one.
@@alycynde5237 that was true in 2022. Michigan gained 150 yards on 51 of the plays. Or something obnoxious like that and then five plays where people lost their footing or something else. That doesn't change the fact that Michigan cheated their asses off. They won in the margins they didn't jump off sides no defense of holding no nothing ever because they knew what was going to happen. Harbaugh fucking sucks the stats say he is a 9-4 coach.
@@alycynde5237 I will also acknowledge I was displeased seeing videos posted everywhere by the winged helmet and other Michigan promoters, watching Kyle McCord doing TikTok's on the sideline. It makes me wanna pull my fucking hair out. I'm glad he is at Syracuse.
@@nickma71say Michigan did cheat. Does that excuse this last year’s performances from the other team? The Stallions scandal was in full swing prior to the Penn State game, before the toughest part of the schedule. Even if Michigan was stealing signs, it would have only hurt them, as they would have been using that as a crutch. Instead, they won out WITHOUT A HEAD COACH, against teams they supposedly would have “cheated” to win against. If cheating was such a leg up, then surely they would have fallen flat when that stilt was supposedly taken from them in the latter half of the season. The narrative doesn’t hold up, I’m sorry
