Governor Shapiro is the hero of the I-95 bridge collapse. Instead of taking 6-9 months to re-build, he assembled a team, inspired and directed it, and got it done in 2 1/2 weeks! Two and a half weeks!

I think he's pretty much been spelling out his credential. Tough, smart, savy and saying all the right things. I think mark kelly and wife gabby more compelling story but think they'd want to keep mark in the senate...and shapiro is a rising star...He's only 51 so in 8 years ( 2 terms as VP if they win 1x and 2x). Kelly is not a career politician with only 3+ years experience. Beshear is great, but he doesn't help win a SWING STATE, since he's not from one. Hillary LOST by 70k votes in SWING STATES. I think Shapiro is a much better match for Kamala Harris than Mark Kelly. He's a great orator, doesn't pull punches, and I like his youthful energy. Kelly is 1 year older than Kamala, Shapiro is 8 years younger. That puts him in a great position to run for president in 8 years if all goes well. Edit to add, he's telegenic and that's a positive in the modern political climate.

@@poppyseeds1844 Read an article out today that said some GOPers see him as the obvious choice (Trump campaign had already considered him before Kamala switch) and that if he DOES get it, JD Vance has to basically LIVE IN western PA to try and take it from him. The only issue pointed out was, should Kamala lose, he'll be tainted a bit with the loss which could damage future chances for him. I see it the opposite: if we don't win, there might not BE future chances, and certainly being VP for two terms make him TOTALLY KNOWN to the wider public and would GREASE THE WHEELS for him to the WH afterwards at only 59. I don't agree with his stance on school vouchers, BUT, if it helps make him more palatable, then I'm OK with it, since he landed $1B for Education increase in PA. If we HAVE to have school vouchers (which is the poison that keeps us from raising Education funding since so many don't CARE since they voucher'd out), then at LEAST we need to have MORE FUNDING, so I can accept it as a wash. Question is, how does Kamala feel about that and his more balanced take on Israel. My hope is that she is OK with all that, and sees the LONG GAME, that him as VP for 8 would give him the national exposure to win POTUS THEN, and give us 8 more in the WH for sure. THAT would singlehandedly CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THE COUNTRY, despite ANYTHING that happens with Congress, because WE get all the Supreme Court appointments for 16 YEARS and totally TAKE OVER THE COURT to fix things at the FUNAMENTAL LEVEL.
