Whoever gave you this song request just put me on a new jam. Can’t believe I haven’t heard of this, beautifully done. You should check out Maoli - Mercy when you get the chance. Back story: I lost my Pops February 1st, 2021 and three months later, I lost my older brother on May 6th, 2021. One of the songs he would always play would be Mercy by Maoli. Now, when we listen to it, it’s emotional for us bc of the remembrance of my brother, however, it’s totally a different meaning to it. It’s more so when the chorus comes in and you just sing tf out of it that gets you in the feels.

Do you know in Hawaii we have so many different genre of music all the way from traditional Hawaiian to contemporary Hawaiian and a little bit of country there too in the early 70s there was a contemporary music renaissance kind of where the traditional Hawaiian music with w with Hawaiian lyrics pivoted to the English lyrics there’s a group called Country Comfort that was very popular in the early to mid 70s. The lead singer was the person named Billy Kaui unfortunately most of the band members are deceased now, but their music lives on. I’m sure being from Alabama you might have an affinity for country music and also would be familiar with the current day singers. I will give you a link to their second album, which is my favorite till to today which,I have on my playlist but there’s a particular song called Pretty Girl if you don’t mind listening to that particular song or the whole album but who in your mind would or could do a remake of that song anyways I am a new subscriber I really enjoy your channel and your reactions and now especially your newfound love in Hawaii keep those videos coming.
