Sadly, Keith Whitley, the ORIGINAL singer, is no longer with us to hear how great Josh did covering him. I still GREATLY prefer Keith's voice, but Josh does a good job and I love his music!! Great job Josh. Keep on playing this old country! We need more of it!!!!

My father's all time favorite singer was Keith Whitley. He passed away just around the time that you released Long Black Train and he was hooked. Hearing this brings a tear to my eye because I know just how much he would have loved this cover. I'm so grateful that I'm able to experience it for him.

I think it's awesome Josh does covers like this time to time, it seems a good way to pay tribute to other greats from times past. I've heard so far he covered Hank Sr., George Jones and now Keith Whitley. I enjoy hearing Josh Turner sing, have since i was a kid and heard Long Black Train for the 1st time... I've actually seen that train, i didn't realize it at the time, i got older and realized the funeral home where i seen that train there ain't any tracks near it...

This is SO GOOD. I would say this guy gives one hell of a performance of this song. Hands down the best version since Whitley. A very strong part of this song is at 1:52-2:00 the way he delivers that line and his facial expressions bring out the complete emotion of this tune. This man is going into a new stage of his career he is making some of the best music he has sung in a while.
