Amazing work Eric. I am really really impressed by what you are doing. The most stunning one to me is where you let the milky way be static and the earth moving around. This is how it actually really is and it changes the point of view to a completely other perspective. Keep going!
Eric, I'm so glad this popped up in my RU-vid feed! This was an awesome watch, I have yet to get down to Anza Borrego and shoot there and this made me want to do that. I really enjoyed the way you added some of your photography in, and the film Xpan shots are some of my favs. Those shots of Roy's are so good with the halation. For that location, it was film all the way for me.
Hey Brian, thanks for watching! :D Yeah, it's definitely worth a trip down there! And yeah, gotta love that halation. Shooting film is a pain in the butt compared to digital, but there's something about it that's just damn fun. Also, we should go shooting sometime!
Beautiful shots. My fear is ruin some photographer’s shot with my headlamp. That’s why I have been avoiding popular sites in Joshua Tree. Places I go in Joshua Tree got zero people and much less light pollution than at the popular sites.
The term Joshua Tree also describes the trees that are in the area, so yes, the album is probably named after the National Park, or the trees themselves.
I ran into Chris in the JTNP Cholla Garden a couple years ago. He was running a 2-3 person workshop and acted like a dick. He and his group left the trail then he proceeded to sit in his vehicle running and spilling tail light pollution for 20+ minutes. Dude has 80K followers and gets 200-300 likes on his images. He’s the poster child for buying followers.
Bummer you had that experience with him, but I can only speak to the encounter that I had. From what I saw, Chris was super chill and a really pleasant guy. Also, Instagram's algorithm can be rather mysterious. I have around 80K followers myself, and sometimes I only get around 300-400 likes on some of my posts. I've also never bought a single follower, nor have I ever paid to promote any of my posts.
