Join us as we do some free boondocking in our Alliance Toy Hauler RV near California's Joshua Tree National Park and soak up the surprises of nearby Twenty-Nine Palms. We attended an Xscapers RV convergence, toured the cheerful Saturday farmers market, and uncovered century-old Eagle Cliff Mine miners shack ruins. 🚐 This first visit revealed quirky small-town perks and spectacular high desert hikes. At the annual Friendsgiving meet-up, nights bonding over campfires and turkey trots connected us with fellow nomads amidst beautiful camping backdrops. Beyond events, we explored Joshua Tree’s pioneering mining history and unique trees on rugged paths to secluded sites like the abandoned miners shack carved into remote cliffs proved a major highlight! Before leaving Twenty-Nine Palms, we even became Elks Lodge members for future travel discounts. RVing opens doors to overlooked places - we're grateful this desert gem welcomed us into its wonder. 🌵

We finally made it to Joshua Tree this past. Christmas. Although we didn’t do the Miners Cabin hike, we were absolutely amazed at the park. It was not anything like we expected.

That Miners Cabin is such a cool find! I can only imagine how did the person(s) that lived there passed his time, when it was very hot or very cold, how great it was organized to his needs, probably even had some kind of door. Super cool! ... I'm guessing dogs are not allowed on that hike?

No dogs on this one. We have found that most national parks do not allow them on the trails. This hike was inside Joshua tree but there were many other places around there to hike with dogs.

Looks like we missed a good time at the Xscapers Friendsgiving. We met you guys briefly at the Bash this year and hope to meet again down the road. We were actually visiting family in the Pismo area at that time becoming Elks too. It was quite an ordeal to line up the meeting dates and orientation with our travels. Had no idea that could have been an option in 29 Plams.

It was our favorite Xscapers event so far. Bash was fun but really big. The smaller events are more our speed.

Really enjoying your content so far. We are part time in our 50s and will be full time when I retire in a few years. You guys are very relatable. Video B roll has been stunning. Curious how you get such great drone footage of the national parks?

Thanks so much for tuning in. We appreciate it. Since the national parks are no longer allowing filming, and many state parks are no drones, I sometimes supplement my own footage with stock drone footage. Just depends where we are.
