Digital journaling is in Notion is an incredible way to track your moods, symptoms, pain, and remember your commitments! I use journaling for tracking, reflecting, but also as a recommendation engine to remind me of my commitments.
@LamaWhoCrochets no not destroy in literal meaning. But it's like making it untidy and disorganized that make me felt i want to buy a new one. 😂 Sorry english not my first language
I have a five-year diary with only a few lines per day, and after I write the day's entry I always look at the previous day (which I've usually already forgotten) and previous years' entries for the same date. It really helps me track patterns and realize how long things have going on ("oh, it's been a whole year since I started that project." "Oh, right, I started that and never finished it.) It sits next to my computer in exactly the same spot and is the very last thing I do every night before going to bed, so I usually manage to remember. And even so, I forget sometimes. :D
this is an incredible notion setup! glad you figured out a way to keep you adhd controlled. I'm just starting out but i hope we all will get there once!
With you there with the overwhelm… My heart started racing and I got short of breath just looking at all that information on screen and imagining having to keep on top of it all 🥲
This system has evolved over 4 years, the first version was super simple and just had a few properties! I only added new properties as time went on and I learned my needs. I think folks feel this pressure to start at an advanced level, but that's the fully-evolved super tailored version that can from using it daily and adapting it month by month over the years!
Iam glad it works for you and i hope it will work for others too. Currently i have brain damage and altough i know you cant get adhd from brain damage/trauma. I do have all the symptoms right now, and i tried to set up notion but its to much for me to handle or set it up. I wonder how did you manage to set it up and after that, keep using/updating it. Becuase even with the template i just get overwhelmed by notion, its just to much
Does this integrate with something like Google calender on your phone? Or it has its own app that can alert you without having to check it constantly? My thing is learning how to set up and automate these elaborate systems. A hand journal is nice, but sometimes I forget to refer back to it. I have to set reminders almost instantly or Ill forget it. I use a task app, but it would be nice to have something more intuitive.
I have a brand new expensive year planer diary thing that I started to use in Jan, Feb and then 2 weeks goed by and ai forget where I put it. Then I find it, then I realise 50% of all the things from the last 2 months in this planner hasn’t been done. Anxiety 💥, feel useless, feel like a failure, feel like I’ve been left behind. Then starting a new list on the next month and use it for a month and then I just realise that I make all these notes but I don’t do any of them. Coz I forget to go back to it and check what is priority. So now I go through my day, and just do what is like due tomorrow. Stressful, but yea, what can I do? I have a app for my groceries en other list where I write eg. New haircare I want to try, or new makup I need to get next. That has changed my life, I use Todoist is the best. Also use Fantastical as a calendar, but na, thought it would work. Coz us I find that I want to write my to do’s & my meetings in one app, but it doesn’t work, we have to split the 2. So that means we got to have 3 apps, one for groceries, importaint lists. One for weekly, monthly & daily to do’s. And a calendar to keep track of our meetings. And its to hard to have to manage so many apps, it just gets to complicated.
What is your fear exactly? That a Notion employee could access the data? The benefit i get from journaling digitally outweighs any possible consequences from hypothetical data breaches. Data is encrypted at rest and has to be in order to allow for the real-time edits/updates, otherwise it would be dreadfully slow...
As soon as i have the funds, I'm investing in Notion Mastery. Been following you for a while and love your stuff. Just can't get the hang of putting everything together
Ive been journaling for about 2 years straight now, but sadly i don't use any cool advanced programs so usually once I'm done for the day, it gets filed away never to be seen again unless that day was memorable enough for me to look it up later on down the line
Girl I think you have a list-making / systems-crafting problem. But i guess it’s not a problem if you get bags from it. Hair looks good. You look younger for sure.
